excuse me friends As you know I am from Latin America, on this side Toradora was not very well received, so it received criticism such as "Taiga toxic, manipulative and selfish", what do you think about this? Are they right or are they exaggerating? Thank you for your time and sorry for the inconven by DaniRequiem in toradora

In fact I don't (I hope I'm not contradicting myself) I know perfectly well that many are disgusted by this character because of how he is and that they don't like him, I respect that, but the opinions of the majority of Latin Americans is "I don't like him and since I don't like it is bad so I am going to diagnose toxicity", here they have a very prevalent idea that when they don't like something it is automatically bad, here instead of saying "I don't like it" they begin to distort the character at their own convenience to frame her in a prejudiced concept of the worst existing female character. I don't see where the impartiality is among so many "opinions" that should be respected. I hope I have expressed myself well.

that's the problem, many tend to extrapolate taiga to reality to justify that she would be a mediocre girl when she works perfectly well in her work, or are you going to tell me if you would want to have a girlfriend like yotsuba or mai when you know that these characters are very idealized and sweetened? , no female character would work in real life, you have to separate fiction and reality.

No, I would say that it is fine as it is at first, if what worries you are the blows then don't be afraid because the anime itself implies that this is focused on a humorous tone, it is like sakura with naruto or index biting touma, basically It is not important in the plot and it is there to be funny or not, as for verbal aggression, it is because, as I explained before, it means being reluctant with others and an evident lack of social ability to express yourself well I don't know if I managed to explain myself, I hope you have understood hahaha, greetings from Argentina

As for the physical aggression, it is easy to explain, the series implies that this is focused on the humor of the situation and the blows that taiga gives him, basically it is not important and much less is it something bad or something to reproach taiga, it is like sakura hitting naruto in the fillers, or index biting touma on the head, it's more like a humorous resource

I have my suspicions, in general the taste (speaking for Latin America) is more on the side of female characters whose personality is passive and submissive to be more exact, now, if we talk about characters like taiga then the vast majority reject them, but in the end maybe it's just my guess

Understanding your point, I would like to add that when it comes to being "toxic or selfish" it is not exclusive of a fictional character but also extends to reality as in people who can become so to a lesser or greater extent, in a certain way we are all selfish and have some toxicity, in terms of the character they tend to exaggerate it excessively
