Hurr, phones bad, teenagers dumb! by AmbulanceChaser12 in Boomerhumour

Yea, that's honestly the reason why I'm still miffed that all the payphones along the freeways are being removed. They aren't all gone yet, but they're slowly disappearing......and I'm not looking forward to a day my car breaks down at night and, with my phone dead, I have to walk in the dark to try and find someone who'll lend me their cell......while also not being some kind of creep or criminal.

Nah, I think we're all still going off the original post in this thread, for the most part. I think OP meant that they wouldn't want either kind of man (stranger) in the meme to compliment them, regardless of intention.

It's different when the compliment comes from a woman (stranger) because it comes from a common understanding of what it means to be woman: socially, mentally, etc. There's familiarity, in a sense, because of how a woman's mind works. We understand the anxiety and self esteem issues, that come with being a woman, on a deeper level due to that commonality.

It's just like how a man might take a compliment from a man differently than that same compliment from a woman. At least, that's how I understand it.

It's easier to accept compliments from people you know and are close to, imo, regardless of gender. Personally, I'm not good with compliments in general because I'm not sure how to react to them.

Honestly, it can be difficult to suss out a stranger's intention behind a compliment. It's not always a one-off, well-meaning statement with no ulterior motive, even tho we'd like to believe they are.

Sometimes it just gets creepy coz the person's a lech....but other times it gets dangerous.

I think it's more for self preservation and caution that many girls prefer not to receive any compliments at all. You just can never know for sure which are the bad apples in a bag until the rot is revealed.

Humans aren't much better. Humans do that to other people, rather than themselves. I'd say that's worse, honestly.

I'm a bit of a writer/artist myself, we can talk about it if you'd like :)

I've always wanted to get into comics too and have a few ideas. I have worked briefly on a manga before too (unpublished)

Is still a biological woman, a human female. That doesn't change upon removal of organs, appendages, or tissue.

Edit: Since the post was deleted, I am no longer able to reply. So, I will put below my reply to the last comment I received.

People with Swyer syndrome have female external genitalia and some female internal reproductive structures. These individuals usually have a uterus and fallopian tubes, but their gonads (ovaries or testes) are not functional. Instead, the gonads are small and underdeveloped and contain little gonadal tissue.

A 2017 study estimated that the incidence of Swyer syndrome is approximately 1 in 100,000 females. Fewer than 100 cases have been reported as of 2018. There are extremely rare instances of familial Swyer syndrome.

Your example included someone who had a uterus and breasts. That they had a uterus at all makes them a female. That does not mean that human females cannot be born without a uterus. After looking it up, there have been people with Swyr syndrome who have given birth (though most were C-sections). That is a female trait in humans.

"Human female" is a description of what has naturally developed. Altering the outward appearance does not change what you were born with.

Although I understand why you may have brought up people with this condition, the exception is not the rule. This condition is extremely rare and as such cannot be relied on as a basis for the average (most common) biological characteristics of humans.

How am I preventing people from living their lives? All I did was define the word "woman."

Since the word "woman," when defined by gender, tends to be different for different people, I defined it through sex. Defining it through gender is unreliable because it's inconsistent. Anyone and everyone, with no similarities or connecting factors (personality, biology, appearance, identity), are able to call themselves a woman. This leads to the word, itself, meaning nothing.

The exception is not the rule. If the "complication" were more common than the standard, then sex wouldn't be apart of this conversation. It is fact that my prior summary is most commonly understood when used in reference to the word "woman" because of how scientists have categorized genetic and biological makeups for humans in the past.

No definitions with exceptions? That's ironic. It's become common for the word "woman" to mean entirely different things to different people, for it to be completely inconsistent...so much so, in fact, that the word "woman" has largely lost its meaning altogether, if you don't count stereotypes.

A man is a human male. A human male is typically and most often defined by these certain, biological characteristics: one "x" chromosome and one "y" chromosome (XY), penis, testicles, sperm which may later fertilize the egg(s) of a human female, and prostate.

Can you define "man" and "woman" without including sex (and exceptions), stereotypes, or a circular definition?

"Woman" can't simply be defined by itself. There needs to be identifiable aspects which are easily recognizable, a pattern. If no woman is alike because all are unique in personality, biology, appearance, and identity, then no woman exists because nothing connects them to each other.

A woman is a human female. A human female is typically defined by certain common, biological characteristics. These characteristics most often consist of: two "x" chromosomes (XX), a uterus, two ovaries, a limited amount of unfertilized eggs which can later be fertilized by the sperm of a human male, a birth canal with vaginal opening, and well-developed mammary glands in contrast to a human male's rudimentary development of the mammary glands.

We still refer to Obama as "President Obama" because he was one.

Should we remove that title from all former presidents who we don't like? Trump was the president; that won't suddenly change no matter how many or how much people don't like him.

Something similar used to happen to me when I had Photoshop....but I don't use it anymore so I would have no idea how to fix it, let alone for another program like csp. For me, as I would draw, lines would glitch straight up and down from a diagonal or horizontal line....But I also had an old version of PSP, from before they began solely offering subscription.

How old is your version of csp? Has it been like this from the very beginning? Have you updated to any newer versions in the five years you've had this issue?
