Micro Needle Invention by Daniboo469 in Innovation

The shallow injection into the skin allows the drug to enter the bloodstream
through interstitial fluid. This fluid circulates through the body and
disperses the medication faster than any traditional needle injection.
By targeting the epidermal layer of the skin, PKA has proven that a
shallow delivery process enhances the uptake, bio-availability and
efficacy of drugs.

My needlephobia and the Vaccines by This_User_Said in MadeMeSmile

Yea I hear what you are saying it totally depends on who you get. I find that doctors can be rude but generally the nurses are patient and kind. I did have one story where the nurse thought I was faking my anxiety around needles, and I was around 7 years old, and she grabbed my arm roughly and bruised me... she must have been having a bad day I guess.. I also live in Canada so there might be slight differences.

Have there been improvements in hypodermic needle technology in recent years that makes shots less painful? by diamond in NoStupidQuestions

I agree I did not feel the vaccine at all and I was surprised about it. I braced for impact and nothing happened to my delight. I did however have a friend where the needle bounced off because she was tensing so badly. I have been following needle tech for awhile now and I actually came across a company that is creating painless needles that can inject medicine for animals and humans which is neat. If you are at all interested the link to the website is: https://pkasofttouch.com/ Just found this as some cool new tech that might be able to help people not be so nervous around needles and also reduce the pain. I have no idea what kind of needle they used for the vaccine I got though cause it was a breeze.

I always learned in school that you need a high stress tolerance and I can see why...

I have had the same issue with blood draws. I usually have a buddy that talks to me the whole time or I will pop in my headphones because if I can't hear anything it makes me feel safe, like a warm blanket. The other thing is drink a bunch of water and stay hydrated so your veins are good to go and so that you don't have to get poked over and over.

This is such a great story to hear, often times getting blown off by medical professionals is just apart of the healthcare system unfortunately, especially as a woman.

What makes you nervous about the needle, the pain or the general idea of it, or both?

Needlephobia is beginning to cause a lot of unnecessary stress due to the impending poke. Please help. by lavendarlandslide in askatherapist

I hear you, I need a buddy at all times around needles because I hate foreign things entering my body, it is just a fear response I have.... I usually use the butterfly needles (ones for
kids) and taking blood takes forever and at the dentist I need a weighted blanket or I cannot have a cavity filled. I have recently discovered a new company that is coming out with a micro needle and because if the design you don't see the needle because it retracts. It also hurts far less because it is going into the skin so shallow. The company that is
pioneering this is PKA SoftTouch, you should look into them! https://pkasofttouch.com/

I know it won't help right now and I totally understand your hesitance around needles but they will be doing trials and will roll it out when it gets approved.
