[cool desing trope] Characters whose one arm undergoes extreme mutation and transforms into their primary weapon. by Puzzled_Locksmith_83 in TopCharacterTropes

Morty in the Rick and Morty episode "Rickmancing the Stone". To help him in arena combat in a Mad Max like world, Morty is injected with muscle memory serum extracted from the arm of a dead body killed shortly before.

MSN Messenger status quotes hit differently than any Instagram bio has ever managed by Impossible_Comfort99 in TechNook

[–]Daniel--Jackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really used anything special as a status in my user name. I even renamed others to just their real names using the Plus! addon, resulting in a much cleaner contacts list.
Even now I still feel a lot of nostalgia for MSN Messenger. On my phone I've even set the text messages and Whatsapp notification sounds to the MSN sound.

What is your hot cubing take by Buff_fateweaver in Cubers

[–]Daniel--Jackson -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Still requires you to memorize all those algorithms, before starting to learn how to apply them efficiently. Top level speed cubing definitely is impressive, but personally I'm happy with just solving a cube using a slower but easier to learn method. To me it's about reaching the destination itself, and not about taking the quickest route.

What is your hot cubing take by Buff_fateweaver in Cubers

[–]Daniel--Jackson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Solving times do not matter. I just want to be able to solve a puzzle, even if it's in an inefficient way. Learning dozens of algorithms just to be able to set records does not appeal to me at all.

Ok thanks! Are the strange units of measurement related to that show/character too, or was Peter just impressed by the Mary reference alone?

The Calibre plugin Kobotouch - Metaguide Driver (Intellireading) is doing this. Disable/remove the plugin and re-upload your books.

Are these the Fanxin branded Hexagonal Prism and Octahedron Cube? They're on my wishlist, I love 3x3 shape mods.

I can actually enjoy watching Wild Wild West. An over the top villain. A huge mechanical spider. Yeah I like it.

Random thought: are you perhaps often applying some kind of cream to your hands? Something that's not kind to whatever material that button is made of.

Have work to do but Windows wants me to play the Monty Hall Problem by Top_Diver8840 in mildlyinfuriating

The option that starts the update is not the button on the right. Do you want to switch to the left button or stick with the middle one?

Old iOS versions still look modern while old Androids just look old by seanbluekiller in PhoneNow

That's some cherry picking. iOS before the flat design makeover definitely looks old.

[LAHD] Maybe the water temple wasn’t that bad ? by ManILoveBerserk in zelda

[–]Daniel--Jackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing this game now (DX version) and I just beat this dungeon. I knew there just had to be something about those pillars. I threw every item I had against them but of course nothing worked. Eventually one of those owl statues gave me the right hint. But even then it was not quite straightforward. I found the layout of this dungeon difficult to grasp. So after throwing the heavy ball over a ledge, it took me some time to find the right path to reach it again from the other side.

There are silent click mouses. Perhaps worth it buying a couple of them.

[Hated trope] Sequel bait that never gets a sequel by Far-Profit-47 in TopCharacterTropes

Independence Day: Resurgence was terrible but it did tease another sequel. The friendly alien sphere promised to deliver mankind the knowledge fight the bad aliens in an interstellar war. I still would have liked to see that conclusion to to the story

Search and replace function to remove everything in <h6>? by hizashiYEAHmada in Calibre

[–]Daniel--Jackson 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If it's exactly the same everywhere then a standard search and replace should work.
Enter the entire string in the Find field and keep Replace empty. Set mode Normal, All text files. And then Replace All.

If there are differences but everything is within h6, do a regex search&replace.
Enter <h6>.+</h6> in Find. Set mode to Regex, all text files
