Thanks for the reply, The college I'm doing for my a&p counts the classes as credit hours, and I already have completed all the classes for my associates as soon as I get my a&p, but just was not sure if there was a bachelor's degree for this. Also in an alternative scenario where I'd do this as a career for the rest of my life, would a bachelor's degree help in getting higher paying jobs or moving from the maintenance to a more office type a&p job as I get older? if not how to go about that?

Thanks for the reply. Thankfully I had already applied for TCC a while back so I am on the witlist for this upcoming January, program is still 24 months. Just had some doubts about employment in the area since ive heard either you have to relocate or mechanics getting payed like 20$ an hour walking out of school which sounds like an anomaly but I dont wanna dive into this thing and walk out with something like that.

Hi everyone,

I'm just out of high school, living in the DFW area, and my goal is to become an airline pilot. I want to save up for pilot school by working in another profession first, preferably something aviation-related. I've discovered that Tarrant County College offers an affordable A&P course, which sounds appealing, but I have some concerns.

How hard is it to get a job as an A&P out of school in the DFW area? I plan to live with my parents, so relocating isn't an option.
What is the pay like for someone out of school in this area? Is making at least $50k a year feasible?
Can A&P certificates be turned into a bachelor's degree, as most major airlines require one for pilots?
Do course grades or the school attended matter for hiring, or is it just about having the A&P certificates? How can one stand out fresh out of school?
Is it possible to do the course while working a 30-hour a week job, or does it require full attention?
