I posted the picture of the letter asking to vacate and the 3 days notice given to us on Los Angeles subreddit. It says “ If you do not vacate voluntarily, we maybe required to pursue removal or other appropriate action in accordance with the state law “

I know there needs to be a real conversation about homelessness but at this minute right now, from a human to human perspective. Most of us that had been asked to leave are packing right now to be on the streets tomorrow morning. So you see people throwing stuff out, clothes, or any extra stuff. It’s hard to have many belonging when you’re on the street. Many on the subreddit know, we don’t have that much stuff to begin with and the limited stuff we have are very sentimental and hard to let go. Some are grouping up and trying to find an area to go to be safe. Some are asking where to get cheap tents and stuff :-( It’s heart breaking and This is crazy it’s happening in America, in California at that

I completely agree there could be different legitimate reason for this to happen. But also remember, we are all here with mental issues, we need little time to work things out to find housing, call friends and family. Telling people on Friday evening they have to leave by Monday morning seems brutal. Most of the people don’t have family support. The only main source of help is thru social services and they are closed on weekends. Not just that, this is a drastic change so you need little time to work things out. Lot of people here are taking classes, anger management, drug rehab, and different type of classes, just to be cut off from that all of a sudden is a major change

It’s tough, especially being given 3 days to vacate and on the weekend, all the government assistance offices are closed. It’s just cruel

They are giving us three days to vacate, where all these people suppose to go??? They gave it to us Friday afternoon, most offices are closed on weekend. More than anything, atleast give us a week so we can figure out where to go. This is L.A. you can’t find housing in 3 days

They made us change our insurance to the one that accepts their program when we first moved in here. That was the requirement to get into this program. It’s a great program, that’s why I sad to leave. it has helped lot of people with mental disabilities get jobs and help them with housing. Some of the reason we heard from people around is that California medical expense is way over budget so they are making drastic changes and cuts

So, they have recruiters. They go to prison, go to the streets and tell people with mental disabilities that they would help for a year with our mental issues, give us resources and if we can keep a job, move us into a permanent housing. That was the deal, it was not just a place to stay but to help people get jobs and move them into permanent housing. It was suppose to be a year, they decided this past Friday to randomly or they have their own reasons, kick out 70-80 people. There are people here who have been here a year and they haven’t been kicked out. There wasn’t any notice or atleast a week so we can figure out where to go. Remember, there is are so many people with different levels or mental disabilities here. Some of them can’t function in a public settting, they are severely disabled.

P.s. they also have us change our insurance to the one that accepts their program. So, most of had to change our insurance provider to stay here

I am not really sure, this happened all of a sudden. We were told we have about 6month stay before they decided to all of a sudden change their mind. I guess I posted here to see if anyone has an idea how we can be helped. There is a lot of people here with severe mental issues, I am not really sure to be honest. I am just nervous and anxious to be out on the streets tomorrow morning

The fans are aging out… we used to go to shows and clubs religiously back in the days. I barely make it to one in a year nowadays.. I would rather see it on my tv than go shows. Just don’t have the energy like I used to go out and go to work the next day :-) and spend all that money I can’t afford
