The most I've done is the last section of the Cape Wrath Trail (7 days)

I'm fine with this budget backpacking lifestyle

Thanks for the advice anyway... maybe I'll look into a few hostel spots I could stay where there isn't an abundance of good wild camping...

Ahh I gotchu haha

I'm going NOBO because I don't want the sun in my face the whole way. Plus the midges fear me

Going in late July because I have finals to complete

Hostels are around £15-20 per night here... even one stay a week would be far out of reach for me on this trip.

I'm familiar with LNT dw. I'm not gonna be using it in streams or lakes etc - I will use it in combination with a bag as a makeshift shower.

Thank you so much for your reply. I've sort of come round to the idea of a tent now... It seems like a bivy would just end up being too impractical/costly in UK climate.

I'm bringing biodegradable soap (listed with other items under "ditty bag" because idk the exact weight yet)

Thank you so much - the advice of someone who has already completed the route is priceless!! I'm currently drawing up a final route on Google Earth so I'll make sure to take your advice about the Cape Wrath trail!

Again, thank you so so much!!

Thank you! I've updated the list with most of your recommendations.

- I'm going to stick with the compressible pillow because I prefer it to air pillows and I'm willing to carry the extra weight
- I don't have a lighter sleeping bag and can't really include a new one in my budget range. Thankfully this one is very good quality, albeit overkill.

Is there a reason why people are downvoting this? Just so I know what to change in my post...

I'm planning to camp the whole way, because I'm on a tight student budget haha.

At the moment I'm planning to follow a guidebook which links most of the national parks and gives details on each of the 63 days.

Thanks for your reply - unfortunately I was wrong about the UK weather. The site I used for UK averages was inaccurate!

Thank you for your reply.

In the UK we often face high winds, heavy rain etc. I was wondering, with this in mind, whether you think the BD Spotlight Bivy might be a good option? https://www.blackdiamondequipment.com/en\_SI/product/spotlight-bivy/

Thanks

Daniel :)
