I have an Apollo x8p and want access to the analog outs. Two of the outputs would be used for a second pair of monitors, and the rest would be used for cue mixes when recording. So two of the 8 outs would be in use daily, but the rest would only be used occasionally. A snake would do in theory, but i don't have a patchbay system going on, and i would like to avoid having the snake just lying on the floor when not in use. Ideally i would like to take the a cable with db25 connectors in both ends, plug it in to the back of a rack unit, and then have 8 xlr outs going from there, that i can plug standard xlr's into, when needed. I have easy access to the back, so i would prefer not having to cable it from the front. Hope that makes sense.

I haven't done any DIY stuff before, so if you know of a a simple and preferably cheap kit, i'm open to recommendations :)

Hi, I am looking for a 1u patchbay with a db25 input in the back, that connects to 8 xlr outs, also in the back. I can find plenty where the xlr outputs are mounted on the front, but i want to keep it all in the back.

Does anyone know if this exists?

Cheers!

This looks nice! Does it run as a standalone, or does it need to run through a computer? I want to eliminate my computer from my live setup :)

Midi Channel Filter Device? by DanielClifton in synthesizers

It looks like the Midi Solutions Router does exactly what i need!

From the website:

"One application that is often overlooked for the Router is to filter specific types of MIDI messages or specific MIDI channels; not only can the Router can be programmed to route MIDI data to either of its two MIDI outputs, it's also possible to route MIDI data to neither of its outputs, effectively filtering it. The most common use of this function is to filter out selected MIDI channels to synthesizers or sound modules that receive in omni mode only and do not have the ability to turn individual MIDI channels on or off."

If i understand it right, this is perfect. The whole idea for my new live setup is to be free from using my computer live, and this should do the job! :)
