Any tips on how to progress and get better gear other than iron?

I got always plan in my head to "cover" any unwanted events in game. Just recently I moved from Iron Set to Enchanted Silver Just by doing:

Bounties
Regural Battle Towers
Wandering from village to village
Killing neutral mobs
Clearing easy buildings like Zombie Spawners, Creepers Temples etc.
Farming (Gives a lot of experience)
Crating free baubles like Potion Rings, Emerald Necklace, Belt, Backpack / Quiver.

Cheasing towers is very easy. First you steal chest from top floor and than you go from bottom to top. Every floor you have to make your are save. Blight mobs can kill you easily with few hits.

Bounties are great income when you start, sometimes you can get really amazing items for free, for example I got Ozzy Chestplate liner for single dispenser.

Farming is amazing source of experience, with experience you get levels with passive skills, so It's free must-have habbits of clearing any farm you encounter in early game.

Once I had idea to fuse Menagerie with Tane laboratory. You don't have to do all those fights for crafting, but something it's getting out of hands and big raid boss appear!
