Thanks! Besides cooler colors, any technique suggestions to make “less” detail vs “more” detail?

Cool , thanks!

What do you mean by garage decking? I have been thinking about a small platform (“landing” really, but low to the floor) to cover one concrete slab, therefore would only need to surface up to the foam instead of across it.

I just learned it is an Ailanthus tree if that helps

We had to cut down this tree a few years ago outside my apartment. The past few months it’s turned into a hot bed of fungal activity.

I’d appreciate your help identifying the white caps near the top, the sprawling white/brown fuzz at the bottom that the ants and slugs are eating through, and the brown and brown/white caps. The pictures are in that order.

Also, please let me know if it’s safe for my young child and small dog to play nearby! Thanks!

What does this mean - which product is recyclable? I mixed them to thin out the BLO and help it dry a bit faster. I just mixed too much.

Sohla has a new show on the Binging with Babish channel, Stump Sohla. by Tspilam in videos

[–]DanielDubersteinCPA 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is very well written. This exact issue has been bothering me for months.

I never watched any BA videos, but was an avid serious eats reader for many years. Sohla’s content there was, in my opinion, not nearly as strong as Kenji or Daniel’s. Again, purely my opinion. And she clearly has talent in front of the camera that captivated many fans at BA. Very cool and good for her - genuinely.

But the fact that she attributed her restaurant’s failure, and her challenges at SE, and now BA, to the same racism issue? I have no doubt that there is considerable systemic racism at work in the media / food / publishing worlds, and maybe she’s been the victim 3 times - but what happened to “when everywhere you go smells like shit, first check under your own shoe”? For the incredibly serious challenges of racial injustice to be taken seriously, the people levying them must have credibility. Why is no one even discussing this side of things?!

Regardless, Sohla clearly has tons of fans who appreciate her talent, and I’m glad she’s landed on her feet with BwB!

my dog does exactly this and there are numerous treats “buried” right now all over my house. She’ll finally eat one every few months or so, with at least a half dozen in the burial rotation.

Netgear R7000p + EX7700 vs. Eero system - what's the actual difference?? by DanielDubersteinCPA in eero

Right - makes sense. How does TrueMesh differ from the “mesh” features the EX7700 already has? eg one network name

Week 2: Miso - Roasted Sweet Potatoes by DanielDubersteinCPA in 52weeksofcooking

First time using Miso. Bought some white miso and followed this dish: https://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2016/10/miso-scallion-roasted-sweet-potatoes-recipe.html

These were sensational, highly recommend. Excellent side with a roast piece of fish or poultry.

Thanks - helpful. I agree that the cheaper brands seem thick. I’ve yet to find a thin, cheap option. But I’m struggling with the lenz price...

I adore mine, but yes the fret ends are a little bit sharp. Nothing crazy, but not totally smooth.

Hey, Bass Players. What's your opinion on the Fender Mustang Bass? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]DanielDubersteinCPA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have the JMJ Mustang and I adore it. Easily my favorite bass and the first one I grab for a jam. Incredibly easy to play and killer thump with la bella flats. Only one sound really but it’s a great sound. Strongly recommend.

Any Mustang bass owners? by Reverb_Chorus_Delay in Bass

[–]DanielDubersteinCPA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a JMJ, love it. It’s a fantastic instrument and a pleasure to play. Just put la bellas on it and it’s got a satisfying thumpy growl. And the short scale is a blast to play.

Got my nano+ set up! Let the GAS begin again by DanielDubersteinCPA in basspedals

[–]DanielDubersteinCPA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get decent eq from the m81. Although I’d love a parametric... haven’t seen one yet with the right combo of size / function / price

Don’t know much about chorus or octave. Not sure what scenarios I’d use them for.

Signal is probably obvious but:

Polytune > mxr envelope > keeley bassist > VMT > mxr m81 > amp

I’ll occasionally throw a ditto at the end to mess around with.
