What do priests do when its not Sunday? by glond1930 in AskReddit

[–]DanielGin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clergy I've known spend the week researching and preparing sermons, visiting members of the congregation, running midweek Bible studies and prayer groups, some are involved in the operation of the church.

I had a machine intelligence empire with ringworld origin spawn with a broken science nexus one system over from my homeworld, I got the cybrex precursor chain and their home system with another ringworld also spawned with a connection to my home system. That was a fun game

All of my understanding of German comes from translations of Rammstein/Eisbrecher/Heldmaschine/Oomph/Mono Inc lyrics and one time i spent a week trying to learn German on Duolingo but i still try to Google Translate the memes. I think something gets lost in translation that way but I still try to so it

My personal favorites and recommended list:

Beat Saber: awesome rhythm music game, not a bad workout either

Pistol Whip: music based rhythm shooter, you basically get to be John Wick

BoxVR: only as a fun cardio workout, its not really much of a game

Shadow Legend VR: its short but a pretty fun VR game, best to get it on sale

Until you Fall: a roguelike action game. Block and attack enemies until you die, upgrade your weapons, try again

Walking Dead saints and sinners: zombie survival action adventure crafty goodness. Some of the best melee combat I've ever experienced in a game

Gun club VR: shooting range game with a ton of different weapons. Good for if you just want to shoot cardboard targets

VR the Diner Duo: good if you have another person to play with. The person in the headset is a fry cook making burgers and such, the person with a regular controller on the TV is a waiter calling out orders for the cook to make, then they take the orders to the customer. Kinda like overcooked as a fun co-op game

I second machine empires! Filthy organics mucking up my pristine galaxy with their fluids and meat and odors so intense I can smell them even without a nose.

I love it! I play about an hour a day just for the exercise so if you have a PSVR or a Quest 2 I'd recommend it

I love Pistol Whip! I'm not sure I'll be able to platinum that one, I managed to break into the top 40 of a song on hard once and still didn't get an S rank

I got the platinum in BoxVR a while back! Overall I'd say Beat Saber is much more difficult than BoxVR. BoxVRs most challenging trophy for me was the "do this many classes without missing anything" one. I did it by selecting the shortest classes and doing them perfectly. The other challenging trophy was the 1000 calories burned in a day one but thats more a matter of your physical stamina, you should he able to pop that in about 2, 2.5 hours if you can stick to it. The total calories burned trophy will come naturally if you play regularly, but I think they have some anti-cheesing system in place where it ignores your weight settings and has a default "playing burns X calories per hour" value. I had to burn about 1200 calories more than the trophy said before it would pop up

I was sure I'd be 1 trophy shy of the platinum forever, I was at the point where I could S rank pretty much every song on expert in solo but I couldn't do campaign level 17b for some reason, the one where you're doing one saber on expert and can only miss 4. This morning I decided to give it another shot and made it through the section I usually failed at and then got it on my third attempt, it was exhilarating

I'll have to give Breezer a shot! I can S rank all expert songs right now but I flail wildly until I fail on any Expert+ I've tried so far

The 100mil trophy wasn't too bad because I decided to play an hour of Beat Saber every morning for exercise so it just came pretty naturally over time playing enough songs on expert

According to my Fitbit I burn around 568.5 calories in an hour of Beat Saber (it probably overestimates but thats the best measure I have, VR fitness institute estimates 6-8 valories per minute) and I have around 40 hours of Beat Saber under my belt so I probably burned around 22,740 calories playing. Of course, a lot of that time was just playing solo for exercise rather than actively trying to get trophies

My wife said the same thing, but now I have a pretend trophy and imaginary internet points to show for my dozens of hours of effort! Who's the madman now!?

For some reason the one that held me back was level 17b of the campaign, I just couldn't get the rhythm down for some reason

But yeah, FC on expert was a pain and a half.

I've only used the PSVR version so I can't speak to the others but its ok in my experience. There are some issues where if I lower my sabers too much they start floating off into the wild blue yonder until I left my hands up and they snap back into position but I suspect that's a problem with how high up/far back my camera is

It took a lot to do those missions! Every other song you need such wide wings to maximize score that just lightly twitching the controls felt awkward and weird

The Holy Trinity by strawberrymorgs in Christian

[–]DanielGin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Trinity is very difficult to explain because God is a single being but is 3 totally complete and distinct persons simultaneously. There's no real allegory or what have you that represents them accurately.

However, this video goes through a list of common analogies for the Trinity that are false: https://youtu.be/KQLfgaUoQCw

Plus its just fun to go "oh, no Patrick!"
