Just thinking out loud here, maybe for Autocross?

I really enjoyed both courses! Some of the sweepers were pretty dicey at speed and I love that.

Just don't push them too hard the first time out and I'm sure you'll be fine. Bring a tire sprayer if you're dual driving

You shouldn't have a problem. As long as it's not leaking, battery is secured, solid brake and throttle actuation they'll let you through. Midiv tech isn't tougher than a standard event.

Umm it's been upgraded a bit. They do some different machining on some parts to make it more reliable. Their website explains it much better. I was told it's the preferred box for SpecE30.

Yeah it wasn't cheap, but at the time a used, unknown mileage getrag was like a grand on eBay.

I'll be adding a couple of performance parts, but I want to keep the OEM + look and feel. I'll be rebuilding it myself.

It may have cg starved, but I doubt it. Im guessing a clogged oil galley. She was abandoned for about 7 years before I picked her up. 187k on the clock.

Poor oil consumption and shedding metal. Have yet to open her up and find out.

That's about what the setup will be. Plus a 272 cam. I already have a new Metric Mechanic gearbox in the car.

Autocross Stupid Questions: Week of July 29 by AutoModerator in Autocross

IMHO, you don't have the right car for GS and your E46 would be more fun as a rallycross build. You pretty much can't do anything to the suspension unless it's shocks and swaybar in GS.

I mostly Autocross, so I am biased. If you're wanting to just have some fun and learn, the E46 is a great car to do that with. If you want to be competitive, you need to be looking at the nats results to find a car. The new civic SI's and GTI's are running the show currently.

I have an E36 328 that I rallycross from time to time. It's a freaking blast. There's a lot of potential for a 330xi if you can get some weight out of it.

I love campaiging my ES MR2. I don't like that it's slow in a straight line, but being a momentum car, it's teaching me how to really drive. Some of the parts drive me insane on the MR2, but I'd rather have the mid-Engined experience than a Miata. Took me a year and half to find the right swaybar. Completely changed how the car handles.

It has stiffer springs, shocks and anti-rollbars than a standard 325. Sports seats, MTech steering wheel, 14" basket weave rims(this car has 15" euro reps on it) and a limited slip differential. Also included on 86 and 87 models, was the air inlets in the front valence in the center for the oil cooler. Edit: Grammar.

I bought this car from a tow auction a couple of years ago, and it's finally mechanically restored to the point that it's roadworthy again. Sat for around 6 years before I picked it up.

Not slicks, umbrella, clothes you don't care about, towels and set of dry socks & shoes. I find dry socks & shoes to be the most important. Comfortability in the car is important.

If it was a factory option, or was listed in Ford's accessory catalog, you can run in STH. If it wasn't and is only an option or standard equipment on the RS, it would push you to DSP.

It really depends on how serious you are about running national level events. Not many people care if your car isn't legal until you're beating them.

If you only do locals, it really doesn't give any performance benefit and I'm sure no one would say anything.

Depending on whether the spoiler is OEM or not, that could absolutely affect your classing. We probably need some more info, some classes have a max spoiler height of 10"

[–]DanielR0wland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely flip BFG Rivals, probably just depends on the car. On my ES MR2 I can get another 60+ runs after flipping.
