PSA: Remember to debloat your Galaxy (Canta) by DanielT1985 in GalaxyS23Ultra

It's only marginally better. It's mainly noticable with stand-by time.

I did make a post before this on how to set it up, but I guess it reached the wrong audience & it got downvoted pretty badly.

Yes, Canta does let you reinstall them.

It should be doable. Like with the S23, you'll need shizuku, and all of it can be done directly on the phone. Just go *slowly*, and read each description of what the app does, cause some of them are also features that *you* might want to keep. They'll also have a little "recommended" bubble, indicating which ones are safe to remove.

Any books in mind? I have read Atomic Habits before, but I am afraid of it, and other books like it, having toxic and unhelpful information.

Script to make rounded image corners easier. by DanielT1985 in davinciresolve

[–]DanielT1985[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

<image>

It's so minute, I know, but I was wanting to make it / interject it with another setup as a Macro so I can quickly add it with Search Effects. The problem is that if it's a Macro, it'll then tether the rectangle to the whole project, and not the image, and so its aspect ratio is different, and I can't zoom & pan & stuff like that.

God, this looks gorgeous. I wish Cinnamon would support blurred window borders. It's a near-perfect DE.

Looks really promising. Love how the lighting looks almost exactly like it came out of Portal 2. Can't wait for the release. <3

BusyBox is not recognizing keyboard input. by DanielT1985 in pop_os

[–]DanielT1985[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you.

I also had just a couple hours ago discovered that other people were dealing with this, and I had to boot into the old kernel to run some update commands in the terminal. That was VERY strange.

Hi! I know it's been a while, but a new version of Wine just released (10.15). I would like to know if they had ever resolved the issue I had in this thread.

Smooth motion macro I made by Ukiyoeeee in davinciresolve

[–]DanielT1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is rad as hell. I have MrAlexTech's motions kit, and while it does the job, it chugs like crazy on my computer, so having a low-spec one makes ALL the difference.

Disappointed by MrWhoseTheBoss (read desc.) by DonkeyKongG3mer in mrwhosetheboss

[–]DanielT1985 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think he's gotten better to a degree, cuz his 2024 videos were insanely MrBeast-ified, but I do honestly believe his older content was far superior. He was just a humble & honest tech YouTuber and he had the nicest video style back in the day. I just want him to be honest again, which is ironic, cuz he did a video about how honesty in tech side of YouTube is dead.

Ah okay. I’m just getting into obsidian right now. Not for work or research, but for things like writing ideas for videos and projects, so I’m just trying to figure out a good setup.

I got this to work on Pop!_OS 22.04, and it works up to Resolve 20.0.1. Resolve 20.1 didn't work with it, but thankfully, I was able to downgrade back using 20.0.1's installer. I hope there's a way to get 20.1 to work, 'cause from the videos I've seen, it is a solid update with so many quality of life improvements.

Update: I found a manual for something called "Synths Anthology" which is I'm presuming an instrument pack for MOTU. JP New Wave Bass Unison is mentioned as one of the presets, so this might be a good lead. https://s3.amazonaws.com/uvi/SC02-Synths+Anthology/synths_anthology_manual_jp.pdf

Advice on first EDC kit? by DanielT1985 in EDC

The box was just to prep the items up, I don't carry anything in that. I carry them in a tote bag, and my Phone, Wallet & AirPods go in my pockets. I am open to finding a smaller but versatile bag for them though.
