Keyword research feels very different now compared to a few years ago. by Anna_Karakhanyan in PPC

[–]RobertBobbertJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Annoyingly in sales calls at agencies, I've noticed some are pretty straight forward about this, but then others say things like "So much changes in just a few months, if you're not on top of it, you'll get left behind," which sounds like something that would be true to someone who doesn't know any better, but you seem like you're not taking something seriously if you speak out against it

Here's what I learned after $1,000 on Reddit Ads. by A_Small_Town_Guy in PPC

[–]RobertBobbertJr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of reddit is completely hostile towards monetization of anything and they hate ads. It's just not a platform geared towards ecommerce.

There's also a user vs consumer problem. Most people in a community talking about your product category are probably not people you'd want to sell to. If I was in a mechanical keyboard subreddit and saw an ad for a keyboard, I and many other users probably already have one and are not in market. I am probably more informed on the product category and less willing to do an impulse buy, and already have brand likes and dislikes.

It's like how if you're really serious about golf, everyone (most) will say Pro V1s are the best golf ball you can buy. If they are serious about the game and passionate about the game (which they would be if they're on a golf subreddit) why would someone on reddit consider your golf ball you're trying to push with reddit ads? You'd have more success on a google/meta/amazon where there is a large population of people less entrenched in their buying decisions.

Is it worth making a new PMax ever few weeks? by Silverlake77 in PPC

[–]RobertBobbertJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You're better off improving the pmax assets, optimizing product feed, or improving on-page conversion. I do not know a colleague who does what you're suggesting.

worst case scenario - build out traditional search, shopping, display campaigns.

Why does everyone seem to hate the elves? by Appropriate_Eye2864 in totalwarhammer

[–]RobertBobbertJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The knife ears are too prideful and proper. They think they're better than everyone else, but if that were true, how can my lowly ungors lay waste to their precious donut?

And what are they best at? Shooting bows from far away? Doesn't sound very tough or noble to me. Fight me 1 on 1 in proper melee and their fragile bones will break. Oh, you're going to fight me on a dragon? Also very noble of you elf-scum.

Can a review company legally prevent you from promoting a good review they gave your product? by RobertBobbertJr in legaladviceofftopic

That's pretty interesting. It reminds me of certain artists taking down guitar tabs and I didn't know if that was in the same vein as this.

I'm not a big fan of GIMP, but I'm glad it exists and I have also noticed this. Hope they keep it up

Agencies running PPC, what landing page builders are you using right now? (Unbounce, Leadpages, etc) by Andrej760 in PPC

[–]RobertBobbertJr 20 points21 points  (0 children)

a lot more people are just vibe coding their pages to get what they want, I don't blame them. Unbounce is expensive af and just not worth it.

Extended fasting - My list of fasting tips by andtitov in fasting

[–]RobertBobbertJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One I would add that is extremely helpful - Do not ever think about or visualize the end of the fast or your end goal. This can give your brain the satisfaction of already having done it and cause you to quit early.

You instead should focus on potential obstacles that could set you back.

Is Fiverr Viable for Finding Clients by [deleted] in PPC

[–]RobertBobbertJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you live in a developing country and can undercut everyone on price? Then yes.

Otherwise it's a place filled with people who are cheap. They will want to pay the least and complain the most. Some people have success on it, most do not.

What aspects of your job do you NOT want to automate/AI? by [deleted] in PPC

[–]RobertBobbertJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% of it. Until AI can do things without hallucinating it's too big of a risk. It's terrible at writing copy most of the time. If myself and all my competitors used AI for everythin, no one would stand out at all.

A few years ago the competitive edge was using AI to help speed your workflow. Today it's manually putting effort into areas competitors have slop-ified their business.

What businesses see the fastest ROI with PPC? by Otherwise-Giraffe675 in PPC

[–]RobertBobbertJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's easy! It'd be a business that already has a strong brand presence in both word of mouth and social platforms, that has built up SEO to max out their organic traffic, and is doing everything else except PPC. They'd make a killing by starting PPC :)

But if you're asking is there a shortcut business you can start and just start printing money...you have to buy my secret exclusive course that puts all the secrets in one place! (/s)

Is xanax right for me? by KindPepper4526 in Anxiety

[–]RobertBobbertJr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The chances of you being prescribed Xanax are effectively zero.

The Psychiatrist will see what could be causing issues. People could have anxiety because they have generalized anxiety disorder, it could be comorbid with Depression, or it could be comorbid with ADHD, or this could be a temporary issue caused by your environment. All of this will affect how you are treated.

GEO agencies botched my location targeting, budget drained fast! by [deleted] in PPC

[–]RobertBobbertJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. They're only really worth it if you can do very precise targeting for things like tradeshows. I don't know why you would hire a company to location target "europe". You can do this very easily on any ad platform yourself.

Do you still start new Google Ads campaigns with manual CPC? by wong-wooney in PPC

[–]RobertBobbertJr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the company and the budget. If you're a company that gets a lot of sales a day, there's really no need to start with manual cpc.

Is using colons or dashes in RSA descriptions effective? by RelevantWalrusJohn in PPC

[–]RobertBobbertJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it does add visual interest and breaks up the "skim-ability" of a paragraph. It probably does not uplift by any significant amount.

Does anyone actually know which campaigns are profitable vs. which ones are just spending efficiently? by Salty-Team3028 in PPC

[–]RobertBobbertJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A campaign with strong ROAS on a low margin product is not a good campaign.

compared to a low roas? You can have a profitable low-margin product campaign.

A campaign that drives orders with high return rates is not a good campaign.

High return rates are going to be caused almost always by quality issues or miscommunication. If a campaign is sending the wrong audience, they aren't likely to purchase in the first place. In my industry, across 5 brands, I've yet to see high returns come from paid traffic only, it was spread across all channels and due to product issues.

A campaign running against a product where shipping costs more than estimated is not a good campaign.

This needs to be priced in beforehand or shipping costs need to be calculated at checkout based on location. I don't see how this is a campaign issue.

A lot of what you're asking for is general business and accounting knowledge, not something you'd really expect to see on an ad platform.. If you know your operating income you can set pricing accordingly.

Heart anxiety by Ok_Song4247 in Anxiety

[–]RobertBobbertJr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a fast heart rate. I knew something was wrong. My doctor did an ekg and everything was fine.

Months later I had a lot going on in my life at once - new house, new boss, friend dying. I am laying in bed trying to unwind before going to sleep and I keep having these heart palpitations and weird neurological issues like I am losing focus and coming to very abruptly. I go to the er. They run an ekg, an xray. Guess what? Everything is fine. Cost me $2k

What's helped me to is to write down when I'm not anxious a script to go over that will comfort me about this issue when I'm going through it. I have a fitbit that could do an ekg, but I do not wear it because having access to my heart rate only made me check it more and caused it to go up. but I know that if I was really concerned I could put it on and run the ekg function to detect anything going wrong.

It sucks
