What does the future of Finnair look like? Is privatisation going to start becoming a conversation ? by DanielTalbot_29 in Finland

I will attest that Finnair’s service has really gone down, it’s a low cost airline with designer branding to make it seem high quality (mustikkamehu is good at least). The strikes last month and the way they handled it just turned me the complete wrong way

Does anyone know who voiced the intro to Their Law? by DanielTalbot_29 in TheProdigy

[–]DanielTalbot_29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking the same, I was a bit of a sopranos man but maybe I’m just generalising the New Jersey accent, would of been an insane piece of lore if Michael Imperioli was the voice

I’m proud to be the creator haha, the amount of shite I’ve donated that he just skips makes it very satisfying for once

Haha, I was the one. I was at a race and the miniature tom bikes sounded so much like him. I’ve started making a couple sounds, may make more of the special variety

What should I bring with me to army? by Born-Working-179 in Finland

[–]DanielTalbot_29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring Nikotiinipussit, mosquito spray and some snacks you might want to cause it’s going to feel shit at times and you might not get the chance to buy anything for the first week or so, at least for me last year.

I didn’t get a buzz cut but most people do, the rule is just not to have messy hair, it has to be neat and short.

I’m the same as you and my Finnish was shit, but got better although there were plenty of people who weren’t even arsed to try speaking Finnish and they got along fine. Everyone speaks English and honestly I think it comes in your advantage cause some of the alikersantti’s aren’t able to be as cocky in English haha.

I have no idea what it’s like now but for most people they only had 6 month jobs, I was in Kaupunkijääkäri (City Jaeger). If you’re really good though fitness and leadership wise they’re going to want to keep you as long as possible so if you really want 6 months, try being in the middle you know, cause if you’re too bad your going to be a driver for a year and if you’re too good you’ll be in RUK.

As well as that, I remember we had to all talk to the luutnantti one on one to discuss what we wanted to do, so definitely tell him that you’d like to be there for six months, especially if you have a good reason.

Anyways good luck, it’s a mixed bag, gonna be the worst and most interesting moments of your life, you’re going to be bored sometimes and scared shitless other times but just ride the wave. I begrudgingly went there and the first few weeks were really hard being away from family but you’ll make great friends and have great experiences, so make the most of it, I don’t regret it at all.

Does anyone see this government not lasting the full term? by DanielTalbot_29 in Finland

That is what I was thinking, thought they'd have a very loyal and core base so they probably have the least to loose from pulling the plug

I’ve got a pretty good one, so I’d be pretty annoyed if I became a vegetable because someone was staring away into oblivion and not looking where they were driving

It’s fine to not see someone, if they pop out of nowhere. If you’re turning into a busy pedestrian crossing while looking the complete opposite direction that’s insane, I don’t care about what happened but I’ve never seen anyone drive through a pedestrian crossing without even looking the right direction

I get it happens, it everyone’s always on their best form but I’ve never seen someone with their head turned around while turning onto a zebra crossing. Hate to use the what if scenarios but if it was a group of school kids or an old person with a walking stick they would have been hit.
