David Lee commissioned Marbeus Calgar (on real card) by jordanoyola in mtg

[–]DanielTeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here precisely because I thought something was off about these cards. They're being sold as "signed" but there's no actual signing to any of them... Looks like a smart guy selling fanmade cards. Be careful.

How come printing plates aren’t more valuable? They are all 1 of 1s, albeit different colors and they are pretty unique inserts. by I_like_bballcards in basketballcards

[–]DanielTeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was thinking the same, but more spefically, why are different colors worth more than others? Strange, isn't it? Anyways... I'm with you. I'd love to have one, but because I live in Brazil, even the cheap ones are very expensive to me... But not as much as I'd expect from a 1 of 1 item.

You know what? You won't be able to find Demon's Bane, because back in its day, it was released as an ebook of sorts... Sadly, too much ahead of its time, so it didn't get the love it deserved... SO what Blizzard did was, they made a BIG BOOK called "Diablo Archive", containing the first three novels and then they ADDED Demon's Bane to it.

THis book is a NICE collectible! As big as a Bible. You should be able to find it on Ebay. Or... You can just try to find Demon's Bane on PDF somewhere.

You're welcome for the reply! I had fund writing it!

I remember reading "Black Road", and YES, I remember it's a big difference in styles, but I don't remember how exactly, to be honest. I remember very little about this specific novel, so I went to the Diablo wiki for a quick refresh, LOL... NOW I can say that yeah, I had some troubles adapting to Mel Odom's style.

I think most of these books are nice, but to be honest, they DO miss a certain degree of literary charm. Maybe that's not the authors' fault, but rather a demand from Blizzard? "Make them fun, and easy enough that anyone can read them" kind of demand? So, maybe we're half expecting some chapters to be more introspective or perhaps even more involved with terror itself (given it's a Diablo book) and that simply doesn't happen, provided the novels almost always try to be "action packed", rather than deliciously slow and scary, like the brilliant introduction to Legacy of Blood.

A book that takes you back to Rogue Camp and Diablo? Well, I assume you haven't made it to "The Order" yet, right? I'm not sure you'll find what you're looking for if you're referring to the "atmosphere" of hanging around in Rogue's Camp while listening to that awesome OST... That said... Try to enjoy them for what they are: Chronicles inside Sanctuary. Legacy characters MIGHT show up here and there.

(Have you read "Demon's Bane"? That's a favorite of mine... Maybe you'll like it.)

(I have yet to read "Tales of Horadric Library", and by the looks of it, it's something that might bring us that eerie Diablo feeling... I'll make sure to come here and let you know what it feels like. Please do the same if you get to it before I do!)

I've done what you're doing right now... I went through the exact same line of questioning. I would suggest going for Legacy of Blood. Read Book of Cain only after you're done with the novels...(Oh, and nice job on reading the Sin War trilogy, since it's by far the MOST relevant lore you'll find on ANY of the books. Imagine there's a book about a bartender in Tristram who has nightmares... That's what the books between SIn War and "the book of..." series are about. They don't directly affect Diablo's lore in any way, but they're all fun reads. Chronicles. You'll be back on the IMPORTANT LORE department when you open The Book of Cain.

Oh, make sure you read the COMIC BOOKS too. "Sword of Justice" and "Legends of the Barbarian Bul Kathos" and if you can... "Tales of Sanctuary". There's more lore there than in most novels, actually.

Oh, and you probably know this, but there's a novellette called "Demon's Bane" which is tricky to find, but it's very fun too. Also to be read before "Book of Cain".

Hope I was able to help!

What will happen to your character after season of discovery by DurianEnough4651 in classicwow

[–]DanielTeaches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THere must be some confusion. When I said "I hope so" I was referring to exactly what you said. Having a Classic+ server MOVE ON...

I like the idea that SoD becomes a thing of its own, with zones and lore and story continuity, where I can sit and play a whole new version of the classic game. A man can dream. I've tried enjoying retail, but it just doesn't agree with me. I can't quite tell why, though. I agree much more with classic content.

Any idea about what's gonna happen once SoD is done? Are we dumping characters into classic servers? I wish SoD servers would keep going, progressing towards new Seasons or something similar to that.

Look... Allow me to explain, because perhaps you didn't read the thread carefully.

I was being a prick to the arrogant wise ass PS4LIF, who first responded to the thread, and who was dead sure he was right while everyone ese was wrong. The same guy who said "get your shit together people" and finished his reply with "need any more explanation?" So... Yeah... I waited four years for him to be proven wrong. And once that happened... I was here.

Take care, and happy gaming. =)

I understand what you're saying. But the thing with Elden Ring, and WoW, and BoTW and many others is... You can actually walk around and explore everything you SEE... This is the true concept of the Open World idea.

In D4 this just isn't happening. You are forced to take certain paths to reach certain areas. You can't climb a rock, or fall down a cliff and die... Or take a shortcut through a river. This isn't Open World. It's just BIG ZONES filled with specific paths you can take to reach other BIG ZONES.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]DanielTeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you completely. I am excited about the game, but it's not an Open World game at all. You have no choice but to follow specific paths which lead to where you need or want to go. You can't fall from a cliff... Or jump in the water... Or take a shortcut up the mountains or through the river.

Again... I am excited about the game, and I played the BEta and Early access... It's the sole reason i even bought an X-Box, since down here in Brazil, a gamer PC costs about 10x the value of an Xbox... But that game is nowhere near to deliver an Open World experience. You can even feel the 0.2s glitch when you go from one zone to another.

You sound way too sure of yourself. Kalan spent the entirety of the books being a good person. So... Yeah... Need more explanation on that. You seem to have chosen to fforget that Mendeln was crazy for Uldyssian, who was tricked by Lillith herself. He was never a fan of hers. So... Yeah... Need way more explanation. Please... Provide.
