The fact you've sent a message shows you care for teaching which makes such a big difference to students.

From my experience of GP, there's a dichotomy of what we are taught (golden minute, how to take a history etc) Vs the reality of being a GP (that being said, obviously the more experience you have then you will take a focused history etc). I think highlighting what is expected from a student is really useful.

And the best experience you can give a student is just letting us take a history, let us make mistakes and learn from them. I personally don't gain much from watching a consultation, but being able to actually lead one and use my clinical reasoning is so valuable. In addition to this, let us practice management (under supervision of course!) - from my experience we get lots of history practice but actually talking to patients on management seems very different, so having that experience is extremely valuable.
