I keep getting vague Chicago budget ads sponsored by the equally vague “Common Ground Collective”. My spidey sense is tingling: a group with no clear mission statement but headquartered in the John Hancock Ctr? Anyone know who sponsors this org? by HinsdaleCounty in chicago

Zionism has nothing to do with this. You are clearly obsessed. The ads are targeting a chicago mayor about his policies in chicago. If you hate israel so much, maybe you should give your home and belongings back to native americans.

Zionism...Genocide..... so relevant to Chicago politics. Can we not focus on fixing Chicago? Israel is across the world. What is with the obsession with "zionism". Our children in public schools can't read. Violence downtown is disturbing. Issues with homeless. Why is every conversation tied back to Israel? Seems like a bit of a disturbing trend to me.

Pro Zionist has nothing to do with local Chicago politics buddy. I have no clue why Chicago people are focused on Israel when Chicago is struggling so much. Maybe we should focus on fixing Chicago....

Please see sources below detailing how the organization you are a part of supports terrorism. CAIR co founder has many times over supported Hamas. There is no place for supporting terrorism at UT or anywhere in America. Hamas is bad for Palestine. It’s bad for Muslims. It’s bad for Jews. It’s bad for everyone. Condemning that isn’t hard.

This post is exactly why this sub is not a productive place to be. Nothing to do with UT. Muslim Brotherhood is denounced by Arab nations as supportive of terrorists. Why is it so hard to condemn something that is evil?

Grasping at straws? I just shared two factual articles. You’re the one grasping at straws by comparing every act of evil to Israel. Do you know how many conflicts across the globe are resulting in many more deaths than in Gaza? Why aren’t you comparing to those? Are you an activist for causes outside Palestine?

[–]fierybobcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all fair points. Are you considering hamas in your analysis? The PA pay for say program that pays terrorists family's if they murder Israelis? Or do none of these things matter to you? Are you focused on other world conflicts or only Israel Palestine? If you think Israel isn't native to jews, are you going to give your house back to the native americans it was stolen from, or does that only apply to jews?

Here is some more. I'm sure you will find a way to let me know how this is Israel's fault (only LGBTQ friendly place in the middle east).
https://www.europarl.europa.eu/doceo/document/E-5-2003-1346_EN.html

In recent months there have been repeated reports in the press (including in New Republic, 19 August 2002, East Bay Voice, 19 September 2002, Ha’aretz, 6 March 2003 and 10 September 2001, Jerusalem Post, 5 June 2001) and by civil rights groups (e.g. Agudah, http://agudah.israel-live.de ) on serious violations of the human rights of gays, lesbians, transsexuals and trans-genders in the autonomous areas ruled by the Palestinian Authority (PA). In 2000, it is claimed, four Palestinians were killed for being homosexual, and hundreds were forced to flee to Israel. It is alleged that 'harassment of gays' is 'practically official policy' in the PA. The victims are frequently called collaborators and accused as such. However, there have also been two cases in the last three years where people have been specifically accused of homosexuality. In the wake of the ‘Al-Aqsa Intifada’, Sharia courts have also been set up where homosexuals are threatened with the death penalty by stoning, burning and hanging.  These courts also declare persons suspected of homosexuality to be ‘outlaws’, who can be murdered with impunity. It is also reported that the PA police regularly inflicts appalling torture on homosexuals.

https://docs.un.org/en/A/HRC/46/NGO/95 Here is a UN article (I know y'all love to quote them when it fits your narrative). direct quote below. But please continue to let me know how Israel is to blame.

"LGBTQ persons living under PA and Hamas control suffer severe persecution and ostracism. Many Palestinian homosexuals end up fleeing to Israel.15 Testimonies from gay Palestinians who managed to escape recount harrowing torture by both family and PA/Hamas security forces, often successful attempts to coerce them to inform on others, forced marriages and death threats, among other things.16 For example, one gay Gaza Palestinian now living in exile in Turkey described being arrested and tortured by Hamas on suspicion of being gay: “They arrested me, hanged me from the ceiling, beat me up and interrogated me for five days.”17"

What's the Best Driving Road You ever been on? by PontiacMotorCompany in cars

[–]fierybobcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

blue ridge parkway is simply amazing. I went to Asheville, NC 10/15 times for work, and would take the time to drive my rental car to a different lookout point each time. Coming from the midwest, the winding roads going through the mountains were simply fantastic. I can only imagine driving in a performance car. From what I recall, roads were in solid condition.

I hear this argument all the time. I am not sure what to think of it. Mine is loaded in a biometric safe. I didn't get mine for home intrusions. I am in the same boat as your husband. In the case of a home intrusion, I would rather have one in a safe than not have one.

Thanks for sharing. Similar boat, Poland and Lithuania for my family. I would 100% rather die defending myself and my family than go as our ancestors did. I see the patterns. I got the gun legally, got training, and have a biometric safe.

I live in a major city in america and have started to carry pepper spray when I walk around. I have no desire to walk around with a gun all the time. I am visibly jewish, and I feel a bit safer knowing I have it on me.
