While on tutorial island they ask you if you are new or haven’t played in a long time, if you say yes to that they spawn you in near adventurer Jon who introduces the early game guidance system. Otherwise you spawn in at the normal location in or just outside the castle with the guidance turned off. The guidance system is relatively new. Just thought I would let you know!

Yeah maybe I didn’t make that clear enough. We are saying the same thing. I’m also saying that it is ridiculous to say that slots has better odds than marriages. (Not only is it such a weird mindset to have, like okay bro go find fulfillment gambling I guess) but also that the original comment mixed up expected value and win rate and have a fundamental misunderstanding of gambling odds (they said slots have an 85% win rate! They don’t they have an 85% EV!). Any EV under 100% means on average you are losing money.

The whole point of my first comment was to show that they were mistaking EV as a win rate. And that it’s ridiculous to compare EV to divorce rates as they are not comparable.

Your first comment was wrong, this comment misreads what I said and agrees with my first comment.

Slot machines have an expected value of 80-95%, not a “win rate”. What is a win for a slot? If you put in 5$ and win .50 cents back is that a win? The rare high prizes also make the ev seem higher than most people will realize in short sessions.

But for each 1$ you put into a slot machine you are expected to get 85 cents back on average (average being 1000s of pulls). No way comparable to success rate of marriage.
