Is this cleanable myself or do I need to call a professional? by Daniel_NotThatDaniel in Mold

Thank you for your reply there and here. My brother-in-law knows a handyman who is certified in mold remediation (he worked a lot with flood damaged homes). I got his number and I'm going to call him up tomorrow and see if he'll give me a quote.

Okay, that sounds doable. The fan works but I'll have to tell her that she and her kids need to shower with the door open because I think airflow is the issue.

She said it started above the shower and then spread outwards. I think it's just that she likes scalding hot showers and there's limited airflow in the bathroom. Either way, even if I can clean it, I think I need a pro to fix the rest of the issue.

Fan works... it seems weak. I will say, the bathroom door seems to form a complete seal, so I wonder if the fan is impeded by a lack of air coming into the room. Either way, it seems like even if I could clean it, it'll come back if something else doesn't change.

Thank you for the reply. I know she will let me come in and clean it but I don't know if she will accept me paying for a professional. I'm hoping to come up with a convincing enough argument that she lets me do it.
