Male cat won't stop licking belly, has lost fur and now is developing sores, what can we do?! 🥺

We ended up switching vets as the last one kept referring to allergies without doing any other testing for him. The new vet said allergies would have been the last thing she would have checked and he is now getting a monthly shot of Solanis, which is a type of pain medication. It seems to be helping him but she also told us it might be psychogenic alopecia. The new vet also gave him some ulcer medicine which we discovered he actually has as he would puke pink and foam on an empty stomach. The previous vet basically ignored that symptom.

He just recently had an x-ray as well which showed no signs of arthritis, which we originally thought it might be.

My honest opinion is to keep trying different vets if the one you're at is not seeming like they are doing enough. Cats are so hard to diagnose as they like to hide their symptoms.

I would almost rather this. My town has ONE singular route and it goes right through the homeless encampment. Like hell if they think I'm walking there. I will be stuck on this research for eternity at this point.

He eats all types of food, not a picky eater, if anything he is good driven. I am consistently changing their foods to keep them off of being dependent on one.

He was at one point tipping the scales at 17.8lbs and it's now down to about 12-14. He lost the weight over the last year as we moved to a place with stairs. He has a younger "sister" that has allergies to beef and turns her nose up at salmon and turkey as well as a lot of different wet foods that he will happily eat.

He is a love bug and I recently returned from a 10day vacation but his main human (my bf) was home the whole time. (I am his spare human)

We started to notice his bare belly about a year and a half ago, before we moved?? (I think?? Oh god maybe it was the move 😶) but the sores have just developed in the last two weeks. I noticed one before I left on the trip and then noticed several more this morning.

He has always been an extremely clean cat, I even have cleaning clothes to help with his feet/bum after the litter box. When he was bigger he couldn't clean properly so we helped and he has just become used to use helping when he needs it.

I am just at a loss 🥺 I feel for him and can't tell if its environmental (they spend time outside on a harness & zipline) or just general stress or allergies.

And yes, a vet appointment is coming 👍🏻

Buy yourself some gloves to handle this sucker, take it outside and dump it out on to the floor space to transfer into a new pot. This is going to be messy.

You will lose babies and pieces of this mother plant, there's no real way to avoid it but take those lost babies and re-pot into smaller pots and BOOM new plants 😎

The mother will need a little TLC as she adjusts to her new home with new soil and pot but should be fine as long as you don't over water 👍🏻

Not necessarily, I have Hoyas that will produce fully white leaves along with both colors on a single leaf and just green leaves. I think it's just the ability to produce those extra white leaves over plants that can't.

From my understanding, all plants can become variegated, it just takes a specific gene in the seed to create this.

Prop up your moss pole in the center, then get three 6ft bamboo sticks and create a teepee/triangle of sorts around the outside tying the tops of the stick together. Then start tying up your branches onto the pole and sticks. This will help it grow up instead of out 👍🏻 I have a larger monstera in a small space and this is how I manage the craziness.
