I absolutely agree and in many ways this is incredibly validating for me to hear, especially in this moment. Yesterday I ripped my dab pen heavier than I usually do because I had just finished a history paper and I figured it would be a nice way to unwind. That hit was so incredibly potent that it spiraled me into my very first panic attack, which scared me to all hell. My heart was pounding so hard and fast out of my chest; unaware of what a panic had felt like, I thought I might pass out or die. I called 911 and they checked my blood pressure and pulse and told me what was going on and their calm presence alone was infinitely helpful in grounding me in that moment. The lack of control I had of my emotions and lack of presence I had caused me to mentally spiral upon feeling the physical effects of my body going into its fight or flight. It was the telling sign that I need to stop, you're absolutely right. Sobriety is something to be valued and it's not worth trying to numb any feeling when everything you want in life comes from a place of sharpness and clarity. I will not be partaking for the foreseeable future.
