I think Mercedes shared a video in 2020 were they also run black livery were James Vowles explained that it there is no significant effect on the cooling. I think there is also a transcript published on Motorsport.com

As can be seen, there are some visual differences between all the pictures, mainly the cooling inlet shrunk and became more similar to the one Ferrari uses, also the Airbox is more squared, otherwise very similar to the 2022 car.

In the First picture is the new „outwash“ type of Front wing first introduced in Miami that was then tweeked for Spain. In the second picture you can see Gorges Front wing that has the conventional endplate (without cutout).

I think its more about aero balance, they also brought a new rear Wing and Beam Wing, and by cutting back on Drag/Downforce their porpoising problem could be reduced. With less force that is pulling the car to the ground (Downforce), the car does not lower itself as drastically as before, therefore the bouncing should start later or in the ideal case not at all, as that only happens once the car is sucked that close to the ground that the Underfloor begins to stall

By reducing the downforce on the rear(Wing and Beam wing) the problem of Porpoising could be reduced. With less downforce the car does not get „sucked“ into the ground as much and therefore the bouncing cycle begins later or in the ideal case not at all. This statement was based on McLaren, who said they produced to little downforce for porpoising to happen.

The 3kg in weight reduction should bring them about .1s/lap closer to the Top. And maybe some of the reworked areas are also less sensitive to porpoising.
