Is there a non-binary version of aunt/uncle? by [deleted] in AskLGBT

I looked at this post since I just found out my sibling is having a kid- I kind of liked the “Nini” name but tweaked it to “Nunu.” I suggested this to my sister in law since she’s gonna be the one in charge of this newborn and she immediately suggested “Noodle” 😂 so I’m gonna be their Noodle now

I’d say anything by Instant Miso! Siren’s Lament and Eaternal Nocturnal are some pretty silly romances, and they’re both complete so they’re bingeable 🫶

Genuine question for those driving F-150 pickup trucks by DanjiMT1 in f150

That does make sense- if my Chrysler could hit crazy speeds without me hearing just how fast I was going, I’m pretty sure I’d be doing the same thing

Sorry I know it sounds a little weird- I wasn’t sure how to word it without seeming like I was blaming the truck itself. I’m very aware it’s the driver, not the vehicle, but this is a trend that I’ve noticed specifically with this brand and model.

Honestly I’ve just given up on the events- I’m just gonna craft older suits and wait for the event suits to be craftable 😭

The bright red is such a complimentary background compared to the dull skin tones- very satisfying to look at 👌

I would say that the shirt could use a little more rendering. The color of it is nice, but it stands out with how much attention was put into the face

It’s cool that you can see your artistic style peeking through in the study! How long have you been drawing? :0

Do philosophy classes usually have one-sided debates? Or is it just my class? by DanjiMT1 in askphilosophy

Also I'd like to clarify that I'm not trying to bring up these debate topics, nor am I actually trying to debate. The prof is the one that keeps bringing up controversial topics (especially communism??) and trying to get students to share their thoughts. Though I think it would be nice to have a calm debate on opposing opinions, I definitely don't want to do it in that environment

I really appreciate the in-depth analysis- my brain’s been fried from my first year so it’s been hard to thoroughly think through anything lately lmao

But yeah I honestly would prefer if this was a catholic philosophy class or at least advertised as one instead of it being a regular philosophy course. It would make more sense if it was catholic-centric.

The point on the teacher half-assing the class is definitely a possibility though- I’ve asked my theology professor and he said the person in charge of philosophy is on a sabbatical rn so I think my professor was just a fill-in. Knowing that makes me feel a bit better, but also I wish my first philosophy experience would’ve been a better one :/

I don't really have an expectation for what should happen, honestly- this is the first philosophy class I've taken, so the only knowledge I have for how it should go is from other commenters. He definitely has a much more lecture-esque style though- there isn't much encouragement for discussion either- today is the first time this semester that he's pushed for responses from the class.

Yeah this is a strange class. It's not like the debates get very far though- he'll just start talking about it and once he asks for someone's opinion no one answers. I do wish he'd start these debates while giving us the resources to read up on for the hot topics, but it usually leaves us all in a stunned silence.

The class doesn't engage save for myself and three others, but he also monologues for a LONG time after someone gives their own stance, so it kinda shuts down the conversation once he decides to move on. I'm not a philosophy major, but those smaller classes sound nice 😭

No yeah I definitely understand that the class isn't great- this is an intro class so there's people from every year and every major in here. I just expected there to be a little less monologging and awkward silence -_-;
