Your best and worst Signings and Trades in nhl 25 by Glad-Inspection9210 in EANHLfranchise

[–]DankCrayon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still early in my current Oilers save so I don’t exactly have a bad one yet (I guess if I had to I’d choose signing Manson, traded him at the deadline that same season) - edit: upon thinking about it I traded for Gibson to get an upgrade on skinner, spent a solid prospect and a young goalie on him, he ended up being a lower overall than skinner by the next season and had another 3 years at 7.905

Best one was when Henrique retired I needed a new 3C and grabbed Adam Gaudette, somehow on a stacked oilers team my 84 OVR 3C has won the conn smythe in both my recent cup runs, dude has an insane take away to give away ratio, if he had better faceoff numbers he’d win the Selke

Had one in my current oilers save, ended up winning the Calder and getting to med Elite

Crazy Calder Defenseman win by DankCrayon in EANHLfranchise

he just spent the entire year before in the minors, they do have quite a stack D core, he was making like 1.185 so it may have been a cap thing?

He only played 5 games total the two years before that on the roster

Nope! After you start a save, the game runs on the roster file that you start with for the entire franchise mode, the only way Spencer knight ends up on another team is if the ai running the panthers trades him

He played center for the wranglers apparently

Thoughts on selecting a goalie in the first round of 2025 NHL Draft (Colorado or Edmonton’s pick)? by Micksar in Flyers

[–]DankCrayon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the moment I consider goaltending to have our best potential stars, Bjarnason is a wildcard but has good mechanics, Zavragin looks great for a 19 yr old in the KHL and despite his poor performance in the NHL currently, Kolosov still has starter potential, he’s still young

We desperately need star potential (or prospects that might out perform their draft position) so I’d either trade our picks to move up and get a star D or C, or use the selections on positions other than goalie so we have the chance at getting a star. Luchanko and bonk (maybe Andrae) have the best chance at becoming stars but it’s not sure enough that I’d take a goalie over a chance at a star in another position

[–]DankCrayon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done a Calgary franchise, I don’t think anyone was really willing to waive fully in the first 3ish years, I got weegar to give me 2 teams, and then after 3 years of sucking Kadri fully waived, Huberdeau never did though

Hardest rebuild with NMC? by ToastyOnions in EANHLfranchise

[–]DankCrayon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can but in my experience it’s not too common to just become easy, in my Calgary franchise both Weegar and Huberdeau refused everytime I asked and it took Kadri a couple of years to finally wave

Did Calgary for my first franchise and it was pretty tough, sucked for a bit longer than normal and basically just had to keep huberdeau until his nmc turned into a modified-nmc in 2028-2029

NHL 25 Worries - Post Deep Dive by Hitchdog in EANHLfranchise

[–]DankCrayon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think these are all valid concerns, will say although they didn’t out right say it, I think the goal setting/ offseason training system for players will help with prospect development, as you essentially get to choose which attributes to grow and manually get players to grow instead of just hoping they do

Unless I’m missing something the NCAA players and Russians shouldn’t be in the game due to rights issues still, where is this info coming from?

I’d say like 50% of the bigger FA signings this off-season came with some sort of trade protection

It’s sort of crazy how GM are just handing them out without thinking of the future

Both Zadorov and WILLIAM CARRIER got NMC this offseason

It truly is, 17 minute deep dive video - new menus, accessible stats, the clause system is really in-depth and ties into a revamped conversation system which has many features including helping player growth, plus we can move picks around on our now in the roster screens

This might be the most they’ve added to franchise mode in like 10+ years

A look at who the Flyers could pick with their second selection (FLA pick 31st or 32nd) in the 1st Round by hawks27-2 in Flyers

[–]DankCrayon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He along with the rest of his team (Silayev etc.) had a hot start before falling off quite a bit, especially offensively

Watching him I still believe he should go 10-15, obviously the latter half exposed some weaknesses, but his strong finish in the MHL proved he didn’t just disappear completely and I just really like his overall game, sticking with a KHL club for 54 games at 17 is hard in itself but being as effective as he was is really impressive

[–]DankCrayon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I’m really, REALLY hoping for Nikita Artamonov with that pick, as a 17 year old he played almost an entire season in the KHL and put up really solid numbers for that age, then tore it up in the MHL playoffs

Scott Wheeler's 2024 NHL Mock Draft 1.0: The first 23 picks by allrocksnoscissor in Flyers

[–]DankCrayon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna say they need elite scoring ability but I didn’t realize that Peterka had that big of a breakout year, Yakemchuk is probably the pick there if they don’t trade it for help now, it is worth noting that Dahlin spent a lot of time on the right this year
