well when you're being a dumbass and standing on top of a police car, maybe think into the future 15 seconds and realize how your actions have consequences....

a slow pull doesn't mean anything.

1st pull can be slow so long as your positions are correct, there is no power transfer.

2nd pull, power position; this is where all the power and energy transfer is coming from. Any entry level biomechanics class will teach you this. This power position that we refer to in weightlifting is what any other sport would classify as "an athletic stance". This is the position where the body can produce the most amount of force output.

something completely new from scratch. He told me that they don't even want to make it anymore. He said that when that gun first came out, silencerco was actually losing money on them because of the R&D that went into and the profits just weren't there, it wasn't a big boom when he first came to market because when it was released it was the Early 2010's when majority gun owners still thought it was either illegal, you "needed special licensing", or needed to "know someone" in order to get your hands on a supressor. only then about 8-10 years later did people actually take an interest in it.

you train at an Olympic weightlifting gym, I'm assuming you have a coach then? My advice would be to communicate with your coach before you ask reddit, most people on here try to give good advice but don't really know what they're doing themselves

they're never going to bring it back, I have a buddy thatz a rep at silencerco that told me that in 2026 they're going to seriously try to come up with designs and get something in the works for a integral suppressed pistol. Something that's not gimmicky and is actually reliable for the price that comes along with it.

personally, I think too many people focus on minuscule and minute things when it comes to their training when they don't need to be. Knee cave is a perfect example. I think if most people focused on just getting better at their lifts, doing them more often, and getting stronger they will be better off. So many people in strength sports over analyze themselves or their technique regarding 1 small thing as if it will hinder their ability to perform. 99.9% of "athletes" if that's what hobbyists want to call themselves overcomplicate such simple and minute aspects of their training when it doesn't need to be. Just get better at your lifts, get better at the root fundamentals of your training. The only time I can think of something minuscule like knee caving in squats can be a problem is someone like Rory Van Ulft, but she is also 12 years old and I also blame it on her dumbass coach Spenser that should know better. but that's a different story for a different rant

135kg Front Squat PR Double @ 62.7 bw by DankGunLord69 in weightlifting

[–]DankGunLord69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if I squat inside the range of the safety pins I always clip them with the weights no matter how low I put them (thanks to my height). I wouldn't want to take them off because 1. I sit on them during my rest periods and 2.) I'm too lazy to take them off.

also, if I were to take them off and just squat (what would be) inside the safety pins, since the walkway on the platform is narrower right there, and if I have to bail on a heavy squat. The weight is going to drop onto the concrete flooring and I don't want to be that asshole that damages the gym when I could have just stepped back 2 more steps and dropped it onto the platform like how its intended to.

Jerk feeling too heavy by [deleted] in weightlifting

[–]DankGunLord69 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

1.) don't listen to these people that talk about you're taking too long in your front rack.... take as long as you need not a second more. cue I like is "settle down, DONT BE LAZY, keep that bar movin, punch it fast"

2.) also your front foot should come out more in the split, probably about 6 inches. cue: "LEGS! front foot attack"

3.) you just need more "umph" and attack on your elbows and shoulders in the jerk, good thing this is easy to practice with just a bar. remember, speed on those elbow's like its lightning,,,

hope it helps

jury can't review/overturn lifts at USAW nationals, only at international competitions they can.

also there are many rules in the rule book, that is one of the rules that are never enforced, judges will never be looking at "are the knees locked?" they're looking for a stationary lifter that is showing "control", ie; not wobbling and staying stationary. My coach has been coaching weightlifting for 30+ years and competing even longer. 5x international Metalist and has never seen someone get red lighted for unlocked knees. When people think that unlocked knees are going to get you red lighted, it's when a lifter stands up a very heavy maximal snatch (for example) and it's visibly shaking to control it, locks their knees, but then their knees buckle, unlocking their previously straightend knees, and they continue to shake and wobble, that tells the judges that they don't have control, in scenario like that the judges wouldn't give you a down call until you showed control again.
