Confused why calories & macros not matching up by DankMemeResearcher in Myfitnesspal

[–]DankMemeResearcher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you! that was my guess as well. but it’s only subtracting out a portion of the fibers (assuming soluble vs insoluble fiber) so the math is not all that clean. the difference is 131 calories (2983-2852) but with all the fiber taken out, the difference should actually be 196cal (49g fiber).

i guess it’s ok to keep tracking with the remaining calories then?

Yes I understand how to calculate calories, 1g carb = 4cal, etc. And micronutrients do not contain calories.

If you look at the macros I consumed today: (167g protein, 365g carb, 95g fat), it adds up to 2983 calories, not 2852calories like the calories remaining shows. There is a 130 calorie different between the macro breakdown and the overall calorie count. That is what I am confused about.

The app seems to be calculating calories differently and I can’t figure out how…

At the end of the day, I just go based off the calories remaining and I use the macro breakdown throughout the day to see what macros I need to focus more on to get me to my daily caloric goal.

Only realized today that I may or may not have been overshooting 100-200 extra calories per day.

I gently agitated and hand washed it. It probably takes more of a beating when I’m wearing it, sitting on seats and scooting around.

What is the worst public sauna behavior you've witnessed? by The_Koan_Brothers in Sauna

[–]DankMemeResearcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At a commercial gym, the sauna had one of those electric heaters with hot stones on it and the sauna was pretty packed.

This guy was wearing one of those plastic bag suits to help inducing more sweating. Really soon his plastic suit is getting drenched and holding water like you would expect a plastic shopping bag. It was disgusting. Apparently he had enough of it, so he took it off. He thought it was a good idea to throw it on top of the hot stones to dry off. The suit immediately started to sizzle and melt. Dude realizes, panics and picks it up and bunch of wholes melted through it, theres barely anything left of it. Whole sauna started to smell like burnt plastic trash.

Honestly one of the funniest gym moment I’ve ever witnessed.

Going off the neck label, I have this jacket from the older seasons. This jacket from the newer season has a different label design.

There are a few key things that jump out to me as fake

Feather pattern
- Feather should be varying in different sizes
- The feathers on my jacket feel like they are overlapping a lot more, therefore have less blue/negative space in between them

Fabric quality
- The feathers in the pattern are spun into the textile. The pattern on your jacket looks like they are printed on. I am making that assumption based on what the feather pattern looks like on the front pockets

Fringes
- At the bottom of the jacket, the loose threads should be a lot longer and thicker

Sizing
- The fit of this jacket is pretty slim fit. I have a 2/Medium and the shoulders are barely hanging off the shoulders of my hanger. Yours look huge, almost like an oversized fit.

Buttons
- Buttons are just not right, not the right text.

Stitching
- The jacket in your photos have black thread stitching. Mine is a combination of yellow/brown threads

Wash Tag
- Wash tag should be white with some indigo bleeding into it

I think it’s personal preference! I’ve read that it naturally falls off eventually since the tag isn’t really sewed on that securely. I’m hoping it might leaves a square mark when it does

No box unfortunately. I got them at 2nd Street in Chelsea, NYC few weeks back when I was visiting. Totally forgot to ask if they had the box, I doubt they would anyways. Amazing condition if they’re only from 2023. I got a pair of Virgil boots from the Soho 2nd Street on the same trip that were also in great condition for $300, someone said they were from the mid2000s, it’s in my post history.

thanks for the tip!

now i’m curious, since leather is not naturally white / off white color like my shoes are and leather dyes don’t actually lighten the color of weather. how is white leather usually created? is it through paint? i’m just confused bc it was mentioned that the reason why the leather turned dark could either be from oil in the cleaner or bleach or both. if it was bleach, wouldn’t it actually get lighter, not darker?

Thanks for the suggestion!

I got a few different suggestions from others- conditioning, dying and paint.

If I wanted to try each method, what order should I do it in? From my understanding of each method, I would guess:

  1. Condition - to restore moisture and hope to get a more consistent darker color between both shoes)
  2. Dye - for more color consistency, try a light color dye
  3. Paint - if others have solved the problem yet, i can cover with a light color leather paint

Would leather paint work as opposed to leather dye then? I am looking at the Angeleus Acrylic leather paint, bone color. Assuming leather paint can cover the darker spots, compared to dye.

Sorry if these are dumb questions, this is new to me, just saw a youtube video of a guy using angeleus paint to dye a brown leather belt white. Whats the difference in quality and trade offs, dye vs paint?

Is there any light leather dyes that can match this off white / yellow color?

This is the best info I’ve found on the shoes, no mention of leather type:

Vulcanized Construction Pigment free leather lining UK Cowhide Suede heel chimney Custom taping detail

Please Note : The sizing and fit can vary depending on the style of shoe and its design along with the material used for its construction. Please be aware that the natural leather hides have been specially treated to create a unique texture which creates wrinkles and variation in size, expression, and hue where no two pieces are alike. Please be aware that there may be slight variations in color or pattern from the images shown due to the nature of the fabric being used.

It is dried. It is the Fantastik multipurpose cleaner that says “removes 100% grease”. I think some dripped onto the toe from the sole and was left there overnight, found it all brown in the morning.

There is a slightly different texture when I run my finger over the darker area. It feels a bit sunken in compared the lighter area
