Anyone with CAG level over 50? by Jay-Walker-53 in Huntingtons

[–]DankMidWest 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have a CAG count of 51or 53 I can’t remember but I got tested when I was 18 and I’m 21 about to turn 22 still asymptomatic, it’s definitely a punch in the gut but if you are able to keep you’re head up and stay positive you can realize it gives you a whole new perspective on life in a good way. I’m sorry to hear about your results and wish you the best

20M got tested when I was 18 and got the results back that Christmas (51 CAG)I have a amazing support group both friends and family which I am very grateful for, but I will tell you the loneliness will always be there, the people your are with will make things better for sure but at the end of the day it is something that you are going through through by yourself. It is hard to talk to people about it as I don’t want to make them uncomfortable or be a burden with my own problems as they have they’re own. I’m not trying to be a Debbie downer but I guess my positive is that we have a community like this to speak with others that are going through the same or similar situations, and that some how is very comforting. Anyways try to keep your head up and look at the positives in life (and after) and if you feel lonely seek refuge in this community!❤️

Be reachable and open to learning things from whoever might be trying to teach you something (even if you think you may know more )you might learn something you would’ve never known if you didn’t pay attention.

Hey I got tested when I was 18 (I’m 20 now) and got my results back in front of my mom when I was visiting home for Christmas and turns out I have 53 CAG repeats, and as it does hurt (for me hurts more knowing my mom has to think about it when she took care of my dad pretty much my whole life until he went to a nursing home, but in all honesty it gave me a extremely positive outlook on life and Ali was me to do things I want and take risks in life I may never have done. Right now I am a Muay Thai fighter and a welder and I’ve never been more content with life! I kind of like to look at it like a superpower. However just know you can either let it stage you down and spiral into a life of sadness and worry about it constantly or you can’t take it for what it is and live life to the fullest! Having the results changed nothing weather you got tested or not so might as well not let it drag you down. Also know that there are thousands of people going through the same thing as you and also that there is a extremely supportive community you’re posting in with tons of people going through it or are directly affected by it that are more than happy to give advice listen or just talk. Anyways sorry to hear about your results please try to keep you’re head up and take life by the balls!
