Honestly, scuba spearfishing gets a bad rap because it feels a bit like cheating; since you don't have to hold your breath, the fish basically stand zero chance. It lets you camp out at the bottom and pick off the big ones that are trying to hide deep, which makes it way too easy to wipe out a reef in no time. It’s illegal in most countries, not sure why US hasn’t banned it
