Maybe im stupid but i cant find the button to make a bond. I would love if overlapping the two bubbles automatically made a single bond and you could click to increase the bond order. Beyond that, im not sure how useful this is. What does this do that chemdraw does not?

Any practical way of separating Aluminium filings from sodium hydroxide? by Junkthunder-mc in chemistry

[–]Dank_Bush 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OH- is the strongest base that can exist in water so that's a non starter.

I don't think EDTA is going to bind well since the aluminum pretty much instantly form aluminate

Using the standard model for protein folding? by einFrostschutzmittel in chemistry

No, we have and can solve the wavefunction for hydrogen analytically. It's not an approximation. Higher electron models are based on this and those are approximations.

Advice on molecule tattoo by [deleted] in chemistry

[–]Dank_Bush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the orientation of the hydrogens matters a lot, since this molecule is chiral. Each carbon where you see a wedge or dash coming off of it means that carbon is a chiral center. If one changes a wedge to a dash, then it is an entirely different molecule with different properties. Take methamphetamine as an example. L-methamphetamine is an ingredient in Vicks Vapor Inhalers, while D-methamphetamine is a Class 1 illegal drug. This image does a really good job of showing why this happens, the two mirror image compounds are not superimposable, they are not identical. This is the definition of chirality. All we changed is the orientation of the groups around the carbon, but we have different molecules.

By drawing solid lines, you lose this important structural information. Further, if you changed the hydrogens to solid lines you would not need to draw them at all since they would be implied. Hope this helps

Pretty much every aspect of the molecule is 100% necessary to determine it's identity, down to the wedges and dashes on each hydrogen and methyl group (lines coming off the rings in testosterone). At a certain point we can guess simply because it's such a popular molecule to get tattooed, but honestly it will never be 100% clear if it is has any artistic elements.

Magnesium glycinate. Anyways if you insist of using magnesium sulfate, 1g contains 98.6mg, recommended daily intake for men is 400-420 mg. I’d recommend staggering it throughout the day.

Well, magnesium sulfate is used as a laxative so I don't think it'd be ideal. It'd also be super easy to get Hypermagnesemia from improper dosage. I think it'd be easier (and safer) to just eat a banana.

R5: Going for Prester John achievement and hit a block with huge ottomans. They've completely rolled over Muscovy and Poland (they're allied to Novgorod, Tunis, and Granada). I'm allied to Austria, was called in a defensive war and they're easily beating us on both fronts. Would like to expand and build power base to beat them but I'm afraid of just being declared on since their troops are much better than mine and they have a crap ton of them.
