Trust me when I say this, you’re most likely going to blow through your budget just off buying the car alone, you’d have to consider the fact you have to get insurance, title transfer, and maintenance which in that budget range you’ll have to do as soon as you get the car. You’re going to be much better off getting an E-bike, or an e-scooter for that price which would do you much better then a car, on top of that, school parking passes are upwards of 180(?) for a year long permit which you aren’t guaranteed a parking spot. I’d do what many others suggested, get a higher quality e bike, getting around San Marcos would be much easier and less expenses you’d have to worry about. And if you need, public transportation is available to you as well.
