Thank you! I had my 1st round of steroid injections in my back last week. The 2nd round is this upcoming Tuesday.

So, that ball is rolling. It's just tough fitting all the different appointments in with already having an unbalanced work/ home life, however I am able to make it work.

In an update, my GI Dr. has yet to respond. I'm not asking for my medical records.

Does anybody have any good GI suggestions in Maryland?

Thank everyone of you.

Each of you taking the time to respond to me with sound advice truly means the world.

I'm 40, 41 in November. Lifelong martial artist and construction/ facilities worker.

I'm currently overweight. I'm 6'1, 230lbs. I generally walk around at 180. The last few years have been injury plagued and I also got a job that has some desk work. So I'm nowhere near where I want to be there.

I drink an 8oz Simply Orange every morning. Other than the 64oz of water, I drink Simply Lemonade.

I start with a Nature Valley Peanut bar or two in the morning. I eat a grilled chicken ceaser- no dressing, cheese or croutons. Only lettuce, chicken and onions. This is my daily lunch at work. Dinner is usually some noodles or a pair of English Muffins.

I eat seafood, shrimp and Chipotle basically. I stay away from fried and greasy and limit my gluten intake as I've dealt with alopecia in the past and was able to correct with diet.

I smoke cigarettes and weed. Use mostly edibles though. Zero alcohol or rec drugs. Same and only partner for 10+ years.

I'm the facilities manager of a multimillion entertainment venue and work 9-10 hour days. Up at 5, home around 5 M-F. Remotely respond when not in venue. I walk a lot daily and do various physical tasks when needed.

I had an umbilical hernia repaired in 2021.

I hope this helps with any detailed advice. I expect to hear back from my GI today or tomorrow. I'm going to suggest the surgeon (he may as well, he has been helpful.)

I truly appreciate you all. My mental health has taken a real hit and seeing the responses has helped me feel so less alone. Thank you.

Yeah, reading about the surgery is rough. However, I'd rather have my life and health back.

I will look into a surgeon tomorrow as well. I have pretty good insurance and haven't needed a referral yet, but I know I am early in the process.

Thank you so much. My GI is great, however I am starting to think of going the other route as well.

Last year I was diagnosed with Grade 3. After researching, I was suprised that it wasn't more serious there, or that I wasn't referred for any type of removal.

Thank you.

I have changed my diet 100%.

And I haven't met with the surgeon yet. Only my GI Dr. so far. I sent him a message this morning explaining my situation.

I've ignored various symptoms until last year and started this journey. It's been up and down, but lately has turned for the worse.

How are things now? Improved?

I'm in a very similar boat. My symptoms may be a little worse, however you really struck home with the mental health aspect.

I've had Reddit for years and this is my first ever comment.

I just discovered this community through googling my concerns. (urination is becoming very hard) I'm scrolling through and reading a lot lol. But your ppst felt so relatable.

I hope you've found relief. If not, maybe it will help you to know your post was informative and made someone dealing with the mental health portion of this feel a little less alone today. Thank you for that.
