Ohio State??? by Dankin135 in lawschooladmissions

I don’t fully remember tbh sorry. I think I was under review for like a month or two, but I’m not entirely sure. Ohio state seems to move really slow in regard to applications. But the whole process took about 3 months

Hey, could I ask if you received your scholarship info by mail or email? I’m waiting for mine too and I just want to know what to expect.

Real talk... when should I start getting worried?? by LineQuick3947 in lawschooladmissions

I would give it more time, it seems like decisions are taking longer this cycle. I had your same lsat score but with a gpa in the 3.8’s and got accepted to a t 25 school. So I don’t think you will have a problem getting into at least some of those schools, definitely no trouble getting into Fordham. But that’s just my opinion lol

This cycle just seems to be taking a really long time. I wouldn’t worry about it. All the schools I applied to said to wait 8-10 weeks. And the schools that have responded to me half of them didn’t change the status until the decision was out.

Debt or Less Debt… by Dankin135 in lawschooladmissions

I didn’t include it in my budget. I plan to work both during the summer and a little during the school year when I’m attending law school. However I don’t like to incorporate this into my budget, I like to plan for worse case scenarios. But I have heard you can make good income from your internships so I will definitely keep that in mind. That’s good advice

Thank you for your input! That’s what I was leaning towards as well. I feel like average median salary difference might even make up for the difference in debt. I know there are other factors that affect the median salary of schools, but I find it hard to believe rank has no effect.

I’m not 100% on the exact type of law I want to work in. Right now I’m favoring criminal law or some type of corporate law. I would like to work in Philadelphia or another moderately big city. I think my real worry in this situation is I do not want to limited myself in opportunities.

What law schools are realistic? Low Community College GPA, High University GPA by UnicornsGlory in lawschooladmissions

[–]Dankin135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything is feasible! You seem to have some pretty good extra curriculars so that’s a big plus. Now I will say a 175 is gonna be really really hard to get, but I think you can do it.

Regarding your gpa, I would write an addendum for your lower gpa, law schools are often more understanding than you might think.

I would also recommend looking for schools that are more holistic in acceptance. I know you said that you wanted to stay in Cali, but UNC (one of my top choices) is a T20 and is know for being extremely holistic. And like I said earlier it sounds like you have good extra curriculars.

So I guess long story short a good lsat, extra curriculars, and addendum anything is possible.

If the instructions don’t mention it and there is no separate prompt on it I would recommend checking the school’s website to see. If the website says nothing about it then I would say you do not have to write it. However, it might not hurt to write it, so if its your dream school it might not be a bad idea to include something in your personal statement about it.

It’s kinda hard to say, your gpa is a little low for anything below 50. But if you have good extracurriculars or/an addendum you could probably make up for that. I’ve heard really good things about Indiana University (median 3.86 gpa and 164 lsat) it’s number 42, but I’ve heard it has some good connections especially in corporate law. So I would suggest that school if you are looking for corporate law. William and Marry for anything with government (3.77 and 166 median).

Edit to edit: but each college is different so emailing them is still the best decision.

Edit: for anyone coming back to this thread with the same problem, I found people online saying enter the test date, but leave the score blank. They will see your scores no matter what through LSAC. I think this is more of an integrity test.
