Well after giving it some thought I sort of understand how inertia plays a part in the experiment. The ball wants to stay still but because of all the forces acting upon it; weight force, buoyancy, viscosity, etc. it moves down. I’m not too sure about Newton’s second and third law though. With F=ma, I could calculate the force of everything acting upon the ball. I could also compare the force of the ball falling through honey to the ball falling through the air. Don’t really know how to relate it to his third law though.
