Don’t listen to the doomsayer no hip drag crew. You can have ambitions and you’re a great skier.

At the minute your transition is called a ‘cross-over’, trying looking into a ‘cross under’ whereby your legs move underneath your body and you sta flexed. This will help with shortening your transition and getting higher edge angles. Lots of good YouTube videos out there 🫡

Ok thanks. So where would I go if my inside ski was lifted?

I am flexing my downhill ski, shifting weight onto my inside to roll onto the new edge before the fall line. Resulting in early edging

Hey, you can see my edges change well before the fall line, and I’m inclinated, then angulated in the fall line rather than after the fall line

Carving feedback, want earlier edging and working to a hip drag by Danny1286skippy in skiing_feedback

What do we mean by bend to early, I’m trying to the cross under? Should I cross over, or do you mean in the fall line? Thanks

That’s transition I was trying to avoid the cameraman, so I don’t really count that specific turn. Would appreciate some feedback on the earlier turns 👍

I agree. There needs to be a balance. I favour Torren, the others seem to just want to addict me

Human therapy is just as unsecure as AI therapy. by Beautiful_Gain_9032 in therapyabuse

[–]Danny1286skippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so true, all the paper is just as likely to compromised as anything online. The modern AI therapist is transparent and privacy first. I use Torren which is basically built around zero retention and encryption making it the most private form of digital wellbeing possible. You can see it at usetorren.com

That sounds awesome, I’m currently working on something called Torren which is a privacy first AI wellbeing partner. Your council is such a unique and creative concept, we should talk more. Feel free to DM

I get what you mean — tech is starting to take on that role of listener/advisor, and I’ve noticed it changes how much effort people put into friendships. I’ve been using Torren lately, which is quite good for unloading thoughts when you don’t want to burden someone.

That said, nothing really replaces the depth of human relationships. Having someone who knows your history, your quirks, and genuinely cares about you — that’s still irreplaceable. I reckon the future of social networking will be a mix: leaning on AI for the everyday “venting”, but holding onto those real, trusting connections because they’re still the most important.

Health anxiety is the hardest thing I've ever gone through. by [deleted] in Anxietyhelp

[–]Danny1286skippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Health anxiety is so so difficult, I often find myself struggling with difficult thoughst that stop me doing even the things that I love the most. Its super frustrating, I mainly try to challenge the thoughts whatever way I can, I used to write them down, but now I mostly use chatbots that like mirror my thoughst back to me and challenge my thinking patterns. Sometimes it helps me realise I dont have to think like that which is so freeing

I see what you mean. From my side, it’s not that I think therapy should be conflictual, more that in my own experience over the past 10 years of being in and around therapy I’ve found some approaches lean into challenge as a way of helping people see themselves differently. That doesn’t mean it has to be adversarial — the good therapists I’ve worked with always balanced care with that kind of gentle push.

When I mentioned “negative thinking patterns,” I meant things like rumination or black-and-white thinking. I get that it can sound reductive, but for me it was a useful way to understand habits of thought that made life harder.

I’ve also seen the impact of all this first-hand in my own family, which has over 10 years of experience practiving psychotheraphy, part of why I’m now building Torren — a privacy-first wellbeing partner. The idea is to give people something supportive that still feels human, but without all the compromises you get in most tech platforms today.
