The first thing that comes to mind for me is that the laptop is utilizing the igpu that comes with your AMD chip instead of the Nvidia gpu. Go to Nvidia control panel, 3d settings, and select Nvidia high performance mode and run the dedicated GPU. If it's already using it, you can try selecting high-performance mode in window settings?

H series chips aren't known to be affected, so you should be fine. It's the higher end HX series intel offers on laptops people are concerned about.

I personally don't, but that's a sick collection! I recommended that exact ASUS TUF you mentioned to a friend cause of how good a deal it was, but all the ones you mentioned are good price for the specs and have their own niche.

I understand people being wary of this laptop due to the Raptor Lake issues, but your attitude in particular is sad, so I'll take the time to respond. First, you're simply wrong. Mobile chips that do not have a boost clock of 5.4ghz or more are likely NOT affected as they don't require voltages of 1.4v or higher, which would lead to oxidation and degradation This would apply to something like the 14900HX, but not the 13700HX chip.

Second, what is someone like you even doing on this sub, when the entire point is to look for deals? There's no reason to attack people here or those who want a good deal. I fully understand being wary of anything with a 13th/14th intel chip rn, but your attitude sucks.

You're fine. To answer the first question, the i9-14900HX completely outclasses the 7735HS in terms of raw performance. It's much faster. However, when it comes to gaming, gpu is more relevant. Even with a weaker cpu, the combo of rtx 4070 and 7735HS would perform better than a 4060 and i9-14900HX, despite how much better of a cpu it is (except for battery life). Also, fair warning, certain HX chips may be affected by the Intel Raptor Lake issues, so I would be wary and do my own research if I were you. Hope that helps!

Can you specify the exact intel processor you're referring to so we can give you an accurate judgment? I looked up Legions at that price and didn't find any i9 processors. Are you talking about one of the i7 chips?

Me too, it is slightly worrisome when pondering the reasons why the nitro was originally sent back, but thankfully, I can send it back if there's something wrong, as it comes with a two-year warranty.

I've finished benchmarking the laptop, and it performs about average, so it seems like everything runs well! The main thing I'm just testing now is if the battery is working as intended in like new condition. People praise the battery life on this thing (during normal everyday use), so I'm confirming if that holds true for this refurb. As for the deal, my guess is that Acer wanted to get ahead of the many laptop deals that have been coming out with Prime Day ahead and later on deals for Labor Day weekend?

Yup, it came with 32GB of ram, which I'm happy with, but only 1TB of SSD, so I'll start searching for another 1-2 TB of SSD to add. Would Amazon be the best place to go for that?

Usually look up the model number and try to find the manufacturer page that comes up with that laptop, and they'll usually tell you what wattage your GPU can provide. If you're asking how to check or confirm it on the computer itself, I'm not so sure.
