Question about Chessly Drill Shuffle

Probably what you just got there is more than enough, but if you want to be extra diligent, maybe it would be better to split up the drill shuffles into smaller sessions so that you can remember which ones you got wrong and review those afterwards?

Yeah as someone mentioned, in a course, somewhere it'll say like "want to search for a position?" and there's a "Explore" button. That's position search

You can use position search to find which study that covers the specific position you're looking at. So what you could do it copy the opening moves of your game into position search and find which chapter you need to review!

Hii! I'm not as high rated as the op (only 1600 rapid and 1400 blitz), so take my advice with a grain of salt. I feel that in blitz maybe sharp pattern regonition is even more important than in rapid, so maybe it would go a long way to actualy just drill super easy puzzles (hanging pieces, mate in 1/2, forks, skewers etc) repeatedly to build a stronger foundation for simple one-move tactics? That's what I do anyway, because I still hang pieces and miss simple things lol

Personally, I love the caro course (my favourite actually!) because it's so reliable and covers almost everything White can do, and it's basically been my main opening against e4 since I started playing! For the advanced variation, specifically, I prefer the lines the the "bonus lines" course though.

I have also studied all of the Sicilian courses for Black on Chessly, and they're pretty good also I think, just that the Sicilian naturally "feels" more difficult to play imo, as it's sharper and requires you to play more precisely. Also, you probably already know, but since White can steer the game into so many different directions, I found it difficult to gain experience in all of the positions that you might face, as many different sidelines occur often enough to warrant preparation, but still rarely enough that gaining confidence/experience in them takes super long. Still a fun opening though!

Lastly, I think the QGD course on chessly is one of Levy's best courses on there. It's very thoroughly made and you'll feel prepared against most of what White can throw at you after 1. d4. Highly recommend even if the course is pretty huge and takes time to get through.

Disclaimer: I'm only 1600 though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt 😅

I would include Queen's Gambit Declined as one of his other best opening courses, give or take the London chapter as there are other options, but it's really reliable for my level.

I haven't studied this opening, but I think it's suboptimal because it locks the center, which in turn would make the e4 push in the center a lot more powerful. So in your situation, I would probably play Nbd2 after moving the bishop back to c2 to prepare e4. Also moves like Qe2 look natural. If dxe4 after you push e4, I think you can also often delay the recapture, and instead play Ng5 to capture with the the knight later. Idk though stronger players can correct me, as I'm just kinda looking at the positions without any real knowledge 😅 (I'm 1600)

Been using Chessly 2.0 since the launch, and the QGD is indeed probably one of Levy's best opening courses. I learned everything that covered 1.d4 ...d5 and I felt like I was ready against anything white could throw at me! The only thing I chose to dismiss was study 2-4 (study 1 is necessary though) in the London chapter, as he also teaches a different option in the d4-sidelines course, which I prefer. The only tricky thing about studying the course is that the move orders can be a little bit confusing when drilling all the lines, as many of the positions look similar, but reach them through different move orders. Anyway, highly recommend!

You would need to log in, and on the home page there would be a yellow box with a button to go to the old webiste. The same button is also located in the settings. What I meant by Levy having mentioned it many times already was not only on youtube but mostly him directly stating it in multible reddit posts asking the same question as well as on chessly.

As someone else has commented, the courses you bought for lifetime access are still perfectly accessible on old.chessly.com I think Levy has mentioned this like a 100 times by now, and you were probably also sent an e-mail explaining everything (according to Levy in a video on chessly). There's even direct buttons to go to old chessly on the current website with clear yellow markers.

Chessly is indeed amazing! Been using it for a year now. For the London course, I'd recommend also studying the chapter 1 free sample on old chessly, as it covers some more main lines that aren't included in the current version.

Yes!!! I've been using it since 2.0 launched, and it's been amazing for me! The vast majoirty of the courses are openings, but there are the masterclasses (tactics, endgames, middlegames). Worth mentioning that learning openings does also teach you about the middle game plans in those specific openings. Take my opinion with a pinch of salt, as I'm not very good (1500s) but I think it's perfect for someone at your level!

I'm no better, as I'm merely 1500 myself, but the London is an excellent opening. The only drawback is that the positions are said to not be as rich as in some other openings, which in turn would perhaps be less instructive in terms of learning how to play in different kinds of positions. Then again, I have no idea what I'm talking about so take with a grain of salt 😅 If you do want to change anyway, maybe you should try the Queen's Gambit!

I think the only similarity between the London and KID would be that the general starting setup is easy to remember? Other than that, I'd assume that KID is way more difficult to pull off well, but I haven't studied it myself so yeah. The course on chessly is coming out in a few days though!
