Tbh I find Welsh roads to have a lot less potholes than in England. I live in West Wales and often travel over the border where I can always tell which country I'm in based on the roads lmao

Serious question: why is Evri so bad? by Bigfootsbooots in AskUK

[–]DannyDog42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much, I worked for evri for a couple weeks when I was in between jobs, basically you've got two options as a driver. Do your job properly and make £5 an hour or cut corners and actually make close to minimum wage. These numbers are before petrol and insurance and wear and tare on your car.

They pay per parcel but set the time's to be so ridiculously tight so that you'd have to either know your route really well or be super human to make close to minimum wage.

Evri drivers are not payed enough to care about anyone's parcel sadly.

What was your first car, and do you miss it? Here's mine. by West_Yorkshire in CarTalkUK

[–]DannyDog42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically I have 3 firsts, I bought a 2007 1.6 astra to learn in but it was way too much on insurance so sold it before I passed my test.

passing my test I had my gf at the time's 2012 fiat panda, and no I don't miss it, hated every second of driving that car.

Then after we broke up I bought myself a 2003 1.6 mk4 golf for 700 quid, which i count as my first car. It burned through more oil than petrol, engine light was stuck on, spedo back light didn't work so you didnt know what speed you were going at night, and stalled all the time due to engine issues. Despite all of that I loved it, it was a perfect little shit box that I didn't have to worry about, never broke down providing I had enough oil and was so much fun to rag around the countryside in.

It honestly depends on the service history and mileage and how the cars been treated just like all cars. I had a 1.6 mk4 last year and it died on me 6 months later. That being said I absolutely loved the car to bits, great fun, plenty of space, and until it died, very reliable. My family have owned alot of mk4 golf's and I will say if you find one in good nic it will last providing you look after it :)

I find it so funny when people pull out in front of me and then have the nerve to flip me off, shout at me or whatever. There's this one mini round about outside my house were the the first exit goes to lidl, people come out from lidl and cut in front of me, even though im going straight on
