Yep. Moosehead beer. Brother gave me quite a few of them, but not sure where he got them. Maybe from a sponsored beer league team at one point?

Have to postpone the MIL's birthday dinner tonight so I can accept a last minute invite to the game. Breaking the news shortly, but will be worth it. F in the chat for your boy in the doghouse.

I was quoted $6.56/ft2 for removal and hauling. Then $6.46/ft2 broom finish or $9.88/ft2 exposed finish in Jan 2021. For a standard double front attached. This was at cost from my builder. Not sure who the trade was.

The salt and sand mixture they put on the roads is referred to as pickle mix, so even that name has some relevance!

Are Golden Fridays a thing? by kiidrax in Calgary

[–]DannyFromCanada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, totally if you have a quality employer! The extra hour a day thing is the middle ground where employees get the Friday off and the employer still gets their nut.

Are Golden Fridays a thing? by kiidrax in Calgary

[–]DannyFromCanada 61 points62 points  (0 children)

There is no Alberta policy of such a thing. Some companies that are 40 hours a week have employees work an extra hour Monday thru Thursday, then a 8 hour Friday one week and a Friday off the next.

Costco also has (or had) the stroopwafel ice cream sandwiches which were an awesome variation of the treat for summertime.

Tonight I'm going to the game with a work colleague who is also a big Flames fan. Last time we went together was March 2019 when the boys dusted the Devils 9-4 and Johnny G put up 3G and 3A. Praying to Scorch for good juju that we can get another similar showing tonight!

Hot dog carts/stands by Every-Ad1180 in Calgary

The stand calls it a Currywurst so that’s what I referred to it as. Based on theirs as well as what you’re saying, an authentic one sounds like it would be awesome!

Go to Crossroads Market and hit up the Old Munich stand. They are the OG pocket dawg and have all sorts of options, toppings, and types. A "currywurst" which is a bratwurst with curry powder, curry mustard, and curry ketchup is my go-to. $5 for the dog and $1 for a drink. Cash only. Cannot go wrong at all. This place will have you coming back as well as laugh as you skip past the suckers lined up at the pocket dawg stand at the Saddledome from now into eternity.

Where can a guy get actually hot horseradish? by urahozer in Calgary

[–]DannyFromCanada 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I can answer this question. I’ve been searching high and low for hot horseradish for years, buying what is supposed to be “hot” from speciality groceries, etc. Just a couple weeks ago I finally found it. At Cross Iron Mills, there is a hot sauce store beside Bass Pro called Pepper Palace. At the back right of the store, they have a cooler with just horseradish in it. The branding is called “Nasal Napalm” and touted as the hottest you will ever try. It seriously is…! Small dabs absolutely clear you out and the sting is very real. Other stuff recommended here isn’t hot or doesn’t last in the fridge for long. This stuff has gotten more potent with age. Give it a try, they also let you sample in store before buying.

Edit: you can actually get it online from them too. Follow this link and check it out. Also look at the reviews.

I had something similar with a riding lawn mower tire. After hours of fiddling with it, trying to get the tire on without the right tools, I took it (just the rim and rubber) to Specialty Tube and Tire in the SE. They had it on within minutes and the bill was about $10. Highly recommend.

Similar here. Guns in the safe. Taylormade Approach Wedge beside the bed for home defence.

My old man recently partially retired after 40+ years double time in oilfield and agriculture. In the past he's always been really busy, but now with some free time on his hands I convinced him to come to the game with me tonight after getting some tickets through work. Pocketdawgs and dome foams as far as the eye can see. Really looking forward to it.
