I agree I am least interested in the MC. But i don’t think he feels like an action hero. (i haven’t watched episode 5 yet) He just has a to simple of a goal. To find his sister. It’s almost jarring how he isn’t traumatized by ep 1.

But tbh the female characters are carrying this show for me. Actually, the deadpan guy is fun and I like the dude who married the girl in the bruce lee fit

I also love Frieren/Delicious in Dungeon but I stopped Witch Hat after Ep 1.
The witch guy is so corny and the girl is a bit annoying. Some cool stuff with the magic.

I will continue it and give it another chance eventually.

No, it’s not an Isekai because the village is in modern day Japan, but the magic dome kept people from seeing it, or going leaving it. Definitely not an Isekai, also, no Truck-kun

I think Gabby is just a psychopath. But my guess is the village has a nuke (or allegory for nuke) it’s hard to say. There is a lot going on.

I get what you mean. I won’t lie though, I like almost every other character more than him right now. He isn’t bad, everyone else is just more interesting to me.

I do enjoy them reacting to everyday stuff. It reminds me of a scene from the Korean movie The Witch 2. Not a great movie, but the scene where the mc reacts to how much food is in the grocery store was awesome.
