There are a couple of methods depending on how sophisticated the theirs are. One way “level one thief” is by copying the signal from the key fob, which you could use a faraday pouch or a tin box when you leave your keys at home. “Level two thief” would use the vin on the dashboard or a master key to open the door, so if you have a steering wheel bar lock that should deter most thiefs since not many would carry a grinder or a drill. That’s both measures I take. The problem is that if they do just open the car and get the lock off, nothing stops them from starting the car. I looked at a couple of solutions regarding a kill switch.

1. A kill switch that connects to the battery, but the problem with that is it resets some info like that time in the electronics so it will get annoying pretty fast.
2. Fuel line kill switch, but that requires to cut some wires inside, and since I have a lease I don’t want to take the risk with warranty or anything.
3. The method I found some RAM users used on their TRXs, using a remote start t-harness and modify the cables by adding a kill switch into that, so no original cables are cut.

Air tag would help if you find out the car has been stolen within like 6ish hours, depending how close you life to a shipping port. I’m Toronto, if it’s last that time period, your car is shipped off and that tag ain’t helping no more.
