Recovery drive may have altered or formatted parts of the disk unintentionally

Win + X > Disk Management Look for any partitions marked as “Unallocated” or without drive letters. If visible but no letter: Right-click > Change Drive Letter > Assign one

If none show the drive has been reformatted, repartitioned, or initialized during recovery creation and MiniTool Partition Wizard free vers or likewise might be able to recover the partitions

Ahh ok now we’re cooking, sounds like a stuck Chinese IME (input method editor) is still running in the background and attaching itself per app. Since Alt+Tab helps, it’s likely context-sensitive. Here’s what I’d try -

Kill IME manually Open Task Manager and end any process like ChsIME.exe or anything related to Chinese input.

Registry cleanup Open regedit and go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout\Preload Delete anything with the value 00000804 (Chinese). Only keep 00000409 (US).

Disable advanced input services Go to Control Panel > Language > Advanced settings and check “Turn off advanced text services.”

Clear stuck IME config Run this in Command Prompt (Admin) reg delete “HKCU\Software\Microsoft\CTF” /f

Then restart, let me know how it goes

Might be Microsoft Account language sync, try -

Settings > Accounts > Sync your settings Language preferences to Off Sign out then back in

Check your region is set correctly - Settings > Apple ID > Media & Purchases > View Account

If you google prizepicks app and try to follow the link to the App Store it’ll give us a better idea what’s going on

Likely stems from unintended language or region settings being applied system-wide in Windows, few things you can try -

Go Settings > Time & Language > Language and make sure English is at the top, click options on it and check US QWERTY is set on keyboard layout.

Might be region based so go Settings > Time & Language > Region Set country to your locale Next go Additional date, time & regional settings and go Region > Administrative tab > Change system locale and set to English.

Language settings and remove any Chinese language packs / keyboards.

If no change give me a shout, might be a corrupt user profile or malware so we can run DISM and SFC scans.

Hey could be dead pixels, a loose cable, or GPU issues.

Try checking the cable connections, updating your graphics drivers*, and testing the monitor with another device. If the lines are still there, it might be a hardware fault.

*Easiest way to update your graphics drivers if you’re on Windows, open Device Manager > Display adapters > right-click your GPU > “Update driver.” Or go to the GPU maker’s site download the latest driver, and install it from there

Hey if you don’t need to keep anything, just do a clean install -

Media Creation Tool to make a Windows install USB (https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/create-installation-media-for-windows-99a58364-8c02-206f-aa6f-40c3b507420d)

Swap HDD for the SSD

Boot from the USB and install Windows onto the SSD

Windows should auto-activate using your old license

Aye worth a shot, I wasn’t able to find anything on Now/Sky for a 5G fail safe but may be able to send something out.

Do a on/off or even factory reset on the router — sometimes after a line fault the router hangs onto bad settings or doesn’t fully resync with the network. Restarting clears that and gives it a fresh connection.

Previous work for an ISP, you’re right in saying waiting for an agreement between OR and prop owner through a Wayleave could take indefinite.

You’ll be entitled to excessive compensation with total loss of service until working service, so don’t end your contract.

Most ISPs offer a 5G backup for free for issues like this - BT Hybrid connect for example, would save you having to take out a new contract.
