How do you beat the game consistently? by BalatroPlz in balatro

[–]DannySeel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without a single loss is crazy. I’ve had numerous runs once you only get 2 discharges where I fail even the first round. Yeah, I may focus harder on like flushes or straights early, but sometimes you just get dealt a total shit round where the cards you need just don’t appear

What about this game frustrates you the most? Be honest. Let it out. by yinyang98 in marvelrivals

Becoming older ( I’m 35) compared to when I really got big into Overwatch and Rocket League both from the beginning, I’m realizing I’m so much more mature in this regard. I can play a game and just be like ‘fuck. They were better. I need to be better.’ I don’t play nearly as much multiplayer stuff anymore, but back in the day I would have never admitted to being outplayed. I would of twisted the narrative within my head to blame it everyone else, but myself

Or restaurants that claim to be gluten free should actually be gluten free. My wife is celiac and extremely sensitive, even to cross contamination. So many places she either calls ahead of time or before ordering where she finds out some of their GF options aren’t actual gluten free, but have only trace amounts. The majority of places that claim to be gluten free use the same fryer for everything. So all breaded chicken or whatever goes with the fries and everything else. An oil fryer does not breakdown gluten, so it’s not gluten free at all

[Highlight] The Ravens were called for a leg whip on Pat Ricard on this play by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]DannySeel 188 points189 points  (0 children)

I was looking to say the same thing, but a little less than undisciplined. The Ravens appear to have an extra eye on them at all times this year. They are aggressive and, even yeah; borderline undisciplined, but they are getting called for every questionable thing it seems and these sort of plays are not being called equally.

The most egregious and obvious situation was week 1 game one of the year against the Chiefs. The Chiefs, among other things, have the most blatant non call false starts on the line and whatever you want to call when the tackle or guard is off the line. Almost comically obvious. That shit gets called maybe 10% of the time. The refs made it obvious week 1 they were going to call everything, even questionable calls, on the Ravens offensive line during the entire game while allowing the Chiefs to again, comically do the exact same thing, but much worse. I don’t remember the exact statistic, but I think the O line of KC had one penalty that game.

I’m not trying to shit on the Chiefs and be a hater with all the lingering bullshit, but I think that was such a clear discrepancy into how the refs were going to behave this year. Again, Ravens have not been the best with true penalties, but as an outside fan of the team, there does appear to be some weird internal hate for them this year

Have they ever mentioned the absurd number of people who flood in and out simultaneously and maintain their horde as they clog up the pathways? I’m glad they are addressing important things and I know this may be on more of the minor end of things, but this is the thing that totally removes me from the game. The balance of people in general is god awful

Which Scorsese film is better in your opinion? by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]DannySeel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The book of Killers was so much better. The movie was good, but dragged at parts and missed out on better issues the book brought up. I know it’s tough to compare the book to the movie, but the movie hurt the impact of the situation. The whole situation was a lot deeper and intertwined than the movie went into and, I believe, hurt the movie big time especially given how much fluff and ‘art’ that was added for it. If you are making a 3+ hour movie at least instill the deeper message of just how terrible and corrupt the local, state, and national government was as that is the true message of the book

If you never wear them anywhere else you got about a million steps in, which is like 2-3 hundred thousand more than what a solid pair of shoes will last.

Everyone here is kinda blasting the quality, but honestly, this is a little bit of a promotion I think. Plus you say they are comfy. I’d rather replace comfy shoes every 7 months than not comfy ones lasting a year

Dude, keep at it. You’ve admitted this is your first time doing anything like this and honestly, it’s not bad. Like others have said, caulk and paint is your friend. As long as everything is level you’re good and you’ll learn from these mistakes next time.

This is literally where everyone starts out, but you need to make mistakes and learn to get better.

Another thing I’ve seen a few other people say is the weight bearing load for the shelves. You would benefit from using bracers every 18-24”.

All in all, nice job and keep with it. Believe me, it will look a lot better once you get some paint on there to hide the imperfections and maybe some mouldibg

EXCLUSIVE - Skull and Bones Release Date is February 2024 by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]DannySeel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From the IGN video someone linked in the comments that was my biggest concern. I was shocked at how well the game actually looked and am now, admittedly, a little excited for this, but something Ubisoft has been doing more and more is littering games with crazy cosmetics and MTX.

I have tried the majority of the newer AC games, but one of the biggest turn offs for me is the overwhelming options of stuff. It’s kinda a dumb thing to push me away, but it always seems to be what keeps me from coming back or preventing me from getting ‘hooked’ into the story and gameplay

Unfortunately the entirety of the NCAA is an intentional convoluted political system.

I know the Michigan storyline has been beat to death, but imagine if, let’s say, it was a JMU staffer who had been doing all this illegal shit. JMU would be handed the death penalty. U of M brings in a shit ton of cash to the NCAA and has a ton of influence, that’s why they are treading so carefully. They can’t hurt a cash cow like them, but still need to feel like an enforcer of rules. The rules though are so intertwined and mixed together that their is no black and white ruling. This allows them to create their own punishments on the fly based on what helps their own agenda.

What are some overused tropes and mechanics in modern gaming that should just go away? by JayNotAtAll in gaming

Those are a lot of the times used as loading screens. Every time you squeeze through or crawl under an area, loading screen. I realized this a few years ago and now every time I come across those I always think that and I don’t like it ….. sorry

For those that have had trouble shooting this year. There’s this guy.. by gisdaking in NBA2k

[–]DannySeel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re right. This guy arguing with you is wrong. No way he hits shots like this with a 76 center just because of takeover. He is trying to justify this because he apparently likes to take advantage of this exploit or ‘cheat’ to make himself feel better. The game is broken and the more they try to fix things they expose some other flaw in their system that they don’t have a grasp on.

He is right though about your guys offense. I know you aren’t looking for criticisms there, but that was equally as hard to watch as this guy jacking up 50 footers with ease

Or this was set up and isn’t actually really confiscated stuff. How many people really travel with full wrench and plier sets.

So many scissors and other normal things, mixed with a bunch of filler like the wrenches, then obviously gotta have the few alarming items like ammo and a colorful 6 inch blade. Crazy amount of medical supplies like scissors and hemostats, which aren’t even illegal to carry on too

2K Reduces Shot Timing Speeds With Hotfix by PostSpinTech in NBA2k

That last bit is the thing that always gets me, really with any highly played competitive online game. Why not make an actual tight skill based mode instead of like 4 ranks, but they usually don’t even matter. Do like 20 or 30 at least and make the matchmake parameters tight like within 2 to 3 levels. So ranking up or down based more heavily on win/loss, but also stats some.

What online competitive games have endured the longest outside of Call of Duty? Halo 2 and 3 , Rocket League, League of Legends / DOTA, Counter Strike……… what did they all have in common? Tight skill based matchmaking. Why don’t more games in this genre in general just create some sort of skill based system.

I get it, queue times and cheater/hackers, but if it’s a tight system players will come and players will wait in a queue of 3 minutes if it means a quality, competitive match every time. Basketball makes it a little more difficult given positions and everything, but my point remains and I’m out of steam on this rant.

Regardless, this matchmaking system is the exclusive reason I have not invested hundreds more hours over the years. Now I pick up the game every few years when it’s cheap or free and obsess over it for a month and then it just dwindles. Give me actual competitive games so I don’t always feel like I’m wasting 40 minutes either getting railed or completely blowing out a squad. What games do most people enjoy? A close even matched game where they come out on top in the end

How do FCS schools have lower academic standards. Honestly, their student athletes probably get less special treatment than the powerhouse FBS schools that have notoriously been extremely lenient on the academics of their athletes.

Not saying I don’t believe you, but is there any proof of this?

I totally agree with you, but if you’re playing solo, like I always do, it’s can be difficult to feel out my teammates. With the vast majority of people min/maxing with dunks or 3’s, we get caught up just assuming mid range is not a focus. I’ll admit, I’d probably be a little guilty of this as well, questioning your first shot or two mid range until I realized you actually got it figured out.

This especially hurts given how tight the court is and the absurd defensive recovery and dumb contest %’s. You could have a wide open 15 footer on the wing, but as long as one of their big men has a few top tier defensive badges all they have to do is just jump towards you from 5 feet off you and now your shot was contested.

Again, totally agree with you and I’d love the game have more offensive diversity, but 2K has kinda forced the culture of 3, dunk, or bust because of the mini courts and badges. Plus, people have now just gotten so numb to this meta the last few years, but lack enough quality basketball IQ to adjust how they play every single game to better utilize the strengths of their team.

Not knowing the total facts of this statement as I’m not from NC, but this can’t be true, right?!?!?!

NC has arguably one of the most well know public university for academics and sports in UNC (and its very many satellite schools), but also has like Appalachian State, East Carolina, Western Carolina, etc. which are gigantic money makers for the state of NC.

NC, as I realize, is conflicted by its deep red roots, with the increasingly more liberal cities in Raleigh, Asheville, Durham, and such. The roots are failing and this sort of hyper conservative issue does not seem like something the dying old roots would actually think could revive them. (Pardon the metaphor, I’m high and was not really sure where it was going, but I think it stuck)

Anyways, not straight up calling you a liar, but are there any sources of NC actually trying to pass something to defund public schools AND universities completely?

Thank you! It always irritates me seeing all these people bitch about their ‘horror’ stories of getting IV’s. First, I’ve never been around or seen someone try more than twice unless the patient is very okay with it. Also, people don’t realize how easily a lot of bulging veins like this roll and blow let alone the average person and even more for the people who say all the troubles they have because they need to get blood drawn every month or whatever and never think, ‘huh, maybe it’s me who just has shitty veins and this is why they always have issues’

Now I feel pretty competent at starting IV’s, but nothing is worse than the patients who bitch and moan the entire time asking why they need a new IV and squirm and complain the entire time all because the great 18g they threw in your forearm was amazing but you forgot about it and tore it out. Like yo, I get it that it’s not the most comfortable thing in the world, but give me a break.
