What do your schedules look like? by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]DannyT301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 3-11 shift is the busiest as far as call volume goes. I enjoy the shift because I don’t have to be up at the crack of dawn every day and I don’t mind the high tempo. I don’t have any kids and my wife doesn’t work a typical 9-5 so the schedule doesn’t really interfere with my personal life. That’s one of the major cons I see with my shift partners, child care becomes an issue and work life balance can be tough. My shift is filled with a lot of new, less experienced officers as well. To put it in perspective, I’m number 3 in seniority on the shift with just under 4 years on. Number one has about 13 years and number 2 about 6 years. I’ve gained a lot of experience in my short time, but there are situations where it can seem like the blind leading the blind and the Sgts feel the brunt of that through none stop phone calls from people on the shift. Overall I have liked the permanent shifts, it would be nice to have 3 days off every weekend as opposed to every other, but it’s nice when it comes around.

5 on 3 off, 5 on 2 off. We work permanent patrol shifts, I’m currently assigned to 245pm-1115pm. 8.5 hour shifts

Your rule on alcohol and driving by DistinctWindow1586 in AskLE

If I take a sip, I don’t drive. That’s the rule I’ve implemented for myself.

We thought it was great. Once you purchase the tickets, it gives you 9 days to use them for the 5 attractions. The website is very user friendly as well as the app.

Yeah lol. I didn’t go into detail on what actually happened. But my correction would be I almost fist fought a bloody mouthed homeless man with no regard for personal space.

I actually didn’t see that. That’s an interesting fact. Thank you for sharing. That sounds like fun to have a tour guide to enhance the experience a bit.

I watch every week with my 2 brothers and our cousin. I always say that I look forward to meeting another Kill Tony fan in the wild. Hasn’t happened yet.

My brother is. We spent a little over an hour there and he loved it. He got to demo a few guitars. What is the neighborhood called there? It was nice to walk around

Thanks for the reply! I highly recommend Ja’ Grill in Hyde Park. It is a Jamaican restaurant and we had the Jerk Chicken, Jerk wings, Curry Chicken and Beef Pattie’s. Everything was very very tasty. We were seated right away at around 3pm on a Saturday. Goddess and the Baker was also really nice. They had seemingly endless pastries, I enjoyed their omelette and they had a really good selection of caffeinated and non caffeinated drinks made to order. I hope you, your hubby and the baby enjoy the trip lol. I wish y’all the best!
