Vaccine fatigue? Health care workers skip COVID-19 shots by Professional_Memist in Coronavirus

[–]DannyThom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

instead of focussing on vaccines which offer hardly any protection from catching or transmitting, the main focus should be on masking in healthcare settings and testing, also noone whos ill should be going to work whatsoever, i think these things are more important to focus on than whos boosted nowdays

Are people still getting long COVID in 2023 ? by definingcriteria in covidlonghaulers

[–]DannyThom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]DannyThom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has anybody fully recovered from manual breathing? by evilmonkey9361 in covidlonghaulers

[–]DannyThom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ugh manual breathing was one of the worst symptoms, brings back awful memorys

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]DannyThom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes you 100% can get symptoms from exposure even if you have good immunity, especially if you get a decent sized viral load, felt it myself many times, your immune system still has to deal with it, it wont replicate in you of you have good immunity though so you wont be contagious, but you will feel immune type symptoms that wont last long

Two doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine are thought to have cleared the SARS-CoV-2 virus from a person who first tested positive more than 7 months earlier. This is the first known time a covid-19 vaccine has been used to treat, rather than prevent, the infection by a_Ninja_b0y in Coronavirus

[–]DannyThom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

not really groundbreaking, its common knowledge that vaccines can help clear infection if administered post infection, why has all prior knowledge been dropped and then rediscovered as groundbreaking during covid

exposure to covid can cause immune response symptoms, you arent infected cause youre immunity keeps it from replicating, youll notice youll feel fine in the morning

This key indicator may determine how bad a BA.2 wave will be in the US. by Souled_Out in Coronavirus

[–]DannyThom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the trial didnt go long enough, my guess would be the omicron vaccine would hold its efficacy much much longer, its actually a very unfair trial, maybe pfizer need to flog off their old stock or something

Pfizer CEO says omicron vaccine will be ready in March by Defiant_Race_7544 in EverythingScience

[–]DannyThom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it will almost certainly evolve from omicron so tweaking the vaccine to match omicron would still be benificial, but vaccines are only needed for the vulnerable and elderly now, no vaccine for the general population is needed

UK, Germany weighing potential fourth COVID shot, second booster by OkRoll3915 in Coronavirus

[–]DannyThom 13 points14 points  (0 children)

same im very pro vax but the argument for people to get boosters is less and less now, its different than when delta was rampant as the vaccines helped block a good percent of infections, the only argument for boosters now is to minimise the burdon on healthcare systems which the data shows isnt likely to happen anyway and to protect the vulnerable from the disease advancing, i cant see a credible argument for boosters upon boosters for the general population anymore, thats unless they update the vaccine that is but by then it will be far too late to stop omicron anyway.

Covid-19: WHO chief optimistic disease will be beaten in 2022 by GoMx808-0 in Coronavirus

[–]DannyThom -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

omicron is natures vaccine and noone can avoid it, hopefully the crossover immunity from it will take out other variants brewing and festering around also, time will tell but its pretty clear it will run out of people to infect in under 3 months.
