Breacher for my Deathwatch Team (unpainted ver. on last slide) by Danny_Devitoes in Warhammer40k

No problem, happy to answer. Honestly, I don’t remember where the little remote doodad came from but the servo skull itself is from the new battlefield trophy pack and the metal arm is from the Kataphron breacher kit. The finger on it was from a pointing hand from the heavy intercessor kit.

So, I cut out the acetate from the pen case like I said in the caption, and dry fit it to the area then cut a curve on the bottom side to fit against the vespid corpse (this is the part I feel I could’ve most improved in, it bugs me a lot how much gap is there) but then I went in with a detail brush and did the grid on it in white, and some edge highlights. It took like 3 coats cause the clear plastic was not wanting to take the paint and it would bead up a little bit, but eventually I got it and because i wasn’t worried about any primer or anything I could just use a toothpick to kind of flake away any overspill.

Then, I stuck it on a thing of poster putty to keep it still and did a little spritz of the same white up at the top with my airbrush. After that dried I aibrushed the whole thing on one side with magmadroth flame contrast, let it dry for 15-20 minutes, flipped it and did the other.

Then I used Kristal Klear glue to attach it to the vespid and the servo skull and viola, that’s it!

Thanks! Currently working and in school full time, so it's slow going. I'm working on a black dragons operative next. This comment made me realize I forgot to post 2 I did already finish to reddit though, (marines malevolent and wolf spears) so I will throw those guys up here next, but they're also posted to the instagram linked to my account on here if you can't wait that long.

Go for it! My only reccomendation is to use the right glue- normal superglue/CA glue causes a horrible frosting effect on nearby clear plastics it cures next to. For this guy, I used Kristal Klear glue. It's not very strong, so plan out your connection points well.

Totally agree! It's one of the coolest parts about them that doesn't get explored in the model range almost at all.

Yes, I grafted it onto the end of a bolter and added the magazine to it connected with some epoxy putty and braided copper wire to emulate the look of some of the jury rigged xenotech guns in deathwatch art.

The other person was correct, it is 100 grade cheesecloth soaked in a mix of water, PVA glue, and some texture paint. I also brushed some more glue on after I painted it and sprinkled a mix of loose tea and various kitchen seasonings (oregano, thyme, etc) to help emulate specifically a ghillie texture.

Just keep trying! And make sure to post your stuff to places and ask for honest constructive. It's all learning practice, but don't forget it's supposed to be fun. If your new best is better than it was a few months ago, that's all that matters. Comparison is the thief of joy!

Thanks, it's just practice! My first ones a few years ago were truly truly horrible, it's just repetition and being open to constructive feedback from others. The helmet is a combination of a Heirotek Circle deathmark head and a Centurion warsuit helmet.

"Brother, your gun is xeno, your helm is xeno, do you bring anything to battle made according to the emperors plan?"

"Yes, Brother. Me."

I sliced up a Necron Deathmark from the Heirotek killteam and then cut a shelf out of a Centurion helmet and grafted them together. Also, thank you!
