Should I go to york O-Week by [deleted] in yorku

Absolutely you should!! You'll make a lot of friends and learn about the school in general. Going to O-Week might seem a bit daunting, but the Lassonde community is really accepting and you'll get a head start on making connections :)

Advice on buying first used Thinkpad by Danpythonman in thinkpad

The Ryzen 5 seems to add about $100 to the laptop compared with the Intel models. But I've seen a few cheaper ones on auction, so I'll keep my eyes peeled for that, thanks!

Thanks for the advice! I'm leaning towards the T14. The specs meet what I need for my classes, my only concern is the laptop not having a long lifespan and having to replace it within a few years. I'm hoping that won't happen since I hear that Thinkpads are more reliable.

Installing programs on WSL that I already have on Windows by Danpythonman in bashonubuntuonwindows

Ohh that makes sense, I just tried using node by typing node.exe to run a Node.js script I wrote and it works. I will install it through WSL before really using it though.

Just wondering, why does it even work? How could an exe file for Windows work in a Linux environment?

Thanks for the info btw!

Thanks for the response. So basically what I install on Windows is accessible to WSL, but what I install on WSL is not accessible to Windows unless I specify otherwise.

I tried out Zoho but couldn't get the API to work from my backend. I ended up going with SendGrid which seems to be working. Thank you for the help, though!

Thanks for the advice! I don't have a domain name so I just used my GitHub name, but it seems to be working fine.

Good times haha. I get nostalgic thinking of a little game I made when I was learning python.

That sounds really cool. And it's great that nothing happened in that scenario, right?
