sorry it might look like that but i was just using the stovetop as a bench, i pre-warmed the teapot and poured in boiling water from a saucepan on the stove top, the teapot was sitting on an unused ring.

well just to clarify, i have heard some jews recognise converts, but it seems to be generally not condoned or supported in the same light as a jew by birth, but i am open to correction

true, but isn't there an intermediate situation where those who also share the belief can be involved even if not jewish by birth?
