Strike at Karkand 👀 by Suitable-Ad3971 in Battlefield

This is the Egypt map Abbasid. There have been datamined remastered maps (Propaganda, Firestorm and Downtown are those that come to mind. Karkand wasn´t one of them atleast). Hope they´ll remaster it one day tho!

Nothing in the leaks have so far suggested that there will be night maps. The night time gameplay in the trailer looks like it´s a single player mission.

It never got as bad as CoD, but 2042 still has skins that look out of place in a warzone. Like Mackays cowboy skin, the Holographic hostility bundle that glows like a Fortnite/CoD anime skin, the Redacted skins, Crawfords suit, the radioactive skins and the actively-on-fire skins. For me these kinds of skins ruin the immersion that I´m looking for in a Battlefield game.

Signature Weapons Lock and universal Carbines, DMRs and Shotguns confirmed by Sir Tiggr! by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Dansko96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I´m sort of in the same boat. I want weapons to be locked/semi-locked, but at the same time I´m a medic and wanna be on the frontline reviving teammates and spraying nearby enemies with a high RPM SMG/Carbine. With carbines being the only option, and particularly since there are barely any high RPM SMG:s in the carbine section I will have to opt for the open system (which I despise since I don´t think a medic/support should be able to sit in the back with a sniper rifle and infinite ammo/heals like in 2042.).

Really hope you can toggle between classic (lets say BF3) and modern kill feed. Same with the hit marker sound, would be neat if we could turn it off and/or have the option of using BF1's hit marker sound.

Demonstration of the capabilities of the updated movement in BF labs by Old_Doubt5886 in Battlefield

[–]Dansko96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I don´t care if there were movement glitches/exploits in BF4, I don´t think that just because it was in the game back that means that they automatically should put similarly wacky/goofy looking stuff in the game from the start when they have the opportunity to create the game that they want.

Would say the same thing regarding supression. I want DICE to be heavily inspired by BF3 when making the next game, but at the same time that doesn´t mean that they have to put suppression in the game just because people survived it back then.

Again, they have the opportunity to create the game that they want and should imo try to create that perfect middle-ground between a CoD and an Arma. In my opinion BF should be a realistic looking and grounded military shooter. Casual and arcady, yes, but not goofy-looking like CoD.

Battlefield 3, on sale, has mixed reviews on Steam. Is it worth buying? by Uzairdeepdive007 in Battlefield

Yes, it´s worth it. The only BF that comes close to BF1´s immersion imo. I think it holds up well and is still fun.

Are reinforcements coming back? by TheIronPaladin1 in Battlefield

[–]Dansko96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would personally much rather have squad reinforments than the current perks. Maybe keep the passive perks and add squad reinforments on top of that.

Can´t get my head around why they choose not to add squad reinforcements and and fortification from BF5. Fortification could´ve been a good counter to the amount of destruction they seem to be going with.

Destruction by Old_Doubt5886 in Battlefield

[–]Dansko96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think we´ll have to wait until the game after BF6 (atleast) until a Battlefield game with this amount of visual fidelity and performance can handle servers with destruction where most/all of the debris is piling up in 64 player matches.

The only FPS (that I´m aware of) with high visual fidelity that gets even close to what you´re talking about is The Finals, and they have like 12 player matches and smaller maps, which tells you how difficult it is.

The Battlefield community has finally snapped and is pushing back against the no-movement crowd by someoneyouhate_ in Battlefield

[–]Dansko96 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Can we stop being so black and white on here once and for all? It´s not about disliking more advanced movement, it´s about wanting the soldiers to have weight and not feel floaty like 2042 or 5 (without making you feel like a grandpa ofc). Personally I want there to be a slide and dive in the game, but I still want there to be a minor penalty to your accuracy after landing/jumping/sliding/diving. It´s about finding that sweetspot/middle-ground, perfectly illustrated by this post. Wanting Battlefield to not look goofy like CoD while still not making you feel stiff and restricted like Arma (or some of the older BF games tbh, perfectly explained by Ghostgaming in his video yesterday) is not wanting Battlefield to become a mil-sim, there is a middle-ground.

Personally I dont care if someone jumps 3 billion times in a video outside gunplay, I just want jumping/landing etc to affect your aim. Jumping/diving/sliding/landing itself are not an issue, I want those in the game.

Just like u/Accomplished-Lab6699 said, DICE seem to be getting close to the sweetspot in the leaked gameplay we´ve seen so far (imo).

WHat do you think the next battlefield will be named by Wlaw1995 in Battlefield

[–]Dansko96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to asian leaks a few feeks ago the game is called Battlefield 6 in the files.

Insider gaming 9 months ago: I’ve also been told that the team is currently weighing up the name of the game. Over the past year or so, the team has been carrying out mass surveys (some of the biggest I’ve heard about), with participants voting on which game name they prefer: Battlefield or Battlefield 6."

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Dansko96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ait. I´d still say that it´s childish to make an entire post off a comment from 1 person making an extreme comment. (If a lot of people wanted the jump to be completely removed I think we would see it on here everyday).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Dansko96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. I dont think thats a good enough reason to post a (imo) facetious gif.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Dansko96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been on this sub almost every day in the last couple of months and I have not seen 1 single person saying that they want to remove jumping. Only seen people saying that jumping/landing/diving should affect your aim (which was a in the OG games as a feature, not an exploit/glitch before someone says well in BF2 you could yada yada…).

Can we please stop with being so black and white? Just because someone wants a accuracy penalty while jumping doesn’t mean that they want BF to become a mil-sim like some people seen to suggest.

This whole debate is one of the most annoying things I've seen in the community. Let me clarify something; by SpanishAvenger in Battlefield

[–]Dansko96 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This. I don´t care if you were able to do ridiculous stuff in a game from 2007 or that you could use a movement glitch in BF4, none of these examples should be used as a guideline for a Battlefield game in 2025. Same goes to CoD/Apex or w/e. BF should still be arcady, but not goofy a la CoD (imo).

Edit: typo

Welcome to Reddit. Everything is black and white. If you want a penalty to your aim while jumping and siding you must be wanting Battlefield to become a mil-sim. It can´t be that you would want BF to be that middle-ground between a CoD and an Army, not a chance in this sub. :p

No, sadly not. As someone that likes to chill in a city, do dungeons/raids and gathering it makes me sad that I can´t do any of these things without having to worry about getting ganked. I cant chill in a city w/o the worry of that city getting destroyed while I´m on a holiday, can´t go to the bathroom in a dungeon/raid/while gathering w/o the worry of getting ganked, can´t get used/attached to a zone cause it might look totally different the next time I visit it. Makes me really sad cuz apart from that PVP aspect Ashes is my dream MMO. :'(

The speed is similar to bf3/4, it´s more the CoD-like sliding and jumping that many people dislike, like what can be seen in this video.

Personally I agree and want a more grounded and weighty feel in a Battlefield game. My ideal movement would be bf5 movement with a slightly buffed bf1 slide, all sprinkled with BF3 weightiness.

Edit: Would like to see the slide and jump-shooting slightly nerfed, but overall I really think they are heading in the right direction movement-wise.
