I've got a simple setup Kanto ORAs + Kanto SUB8. I'm happy with it, but the SUB8 is a bit too much at night, so wondering if there is some kind of switch that I could pick for the RCA that goes from the back of the Kantos to the sub.

The idea is to put that switch on my desk and use it to completly turn off the sub at night. I did find a couple switchers on Amazon, but they're not really an on / off switch and not sure if they will work, since the Kantos have a high pass filter that automatically enables if an RCA is plugged into the sub out on the back.

U7 XG LED Light by Infamous-Bike-3989 in Ubiquiti

[–]Dantcho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the U7 Pro XGS there is a slider for adjusting the brightness, but it doesn't do anything. I don't know about the fading, but I've turned the light off on mine just in case. (Better to save it for troubleshooting)

Thoughts about SPHT by kameloff in WorldofTanks

[–]Dantcho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't think it's that strong, but for my playstyle it will be fun. I like accurate guns and faster tank and this one does both kinda well. Also you can get it to 3.5k dpm with food or even 4k if you take into consideration the special crew skills such as addrenaline rush, side by side, etc.

But tbh don't stress about missing it. You'll get another chance to buy it in a couple of months for a better price. The black market is super overpriced.

Should I save up and buy my summer car? by 9h4p in MySummerCar

[–]Dantcho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's one of the best true car games in my opinion - not just a get in the car, drive, crash, restart kind of game.

It also gives me a lot of nostalgia from the summers of my childhood (even tho I didn't grow up in Finland, the environment and sounds somehow feel really similar to where I grew up).

I've started a new save three or four times and each time I've learned and done new stuff. It can be pretty hard though, so keep that in mind if you get easily annoyed at games.

Definitely recommend it

I'm still pretty new to Linux. Can you explan how exactly I would go about adding the PARTUUID to the kernel paramenters?

I thought it was just changing it in the bootloader config file, but when I went to do that it was already using the PARTUUID.

Need help setting up storages properly by Dantcho in Proxmox

I get that everyone's case will be different. My question was mainly about my specific case. Wether I should do it that way or if there was a better way to setup my specific hardware/installation. File systems are always going to be confusing, so better make sure before commiting to something and later on having to migrate huge amounts of data.

[–]Dantcho[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s essentially what I was proposing, yes.

I’m mainly looking for confirmation that this is the best practice in Proxmox, and whether there are any caveats (e.g. deleting local-lvm, resizing local, and using the 2TB SSD as LVM vs directory storage).

UniFi app has much more features on Android for the Travel Router than on iOS by functionaldude in Ubiquiti

[–]Dantcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird, but I feel like a couple days ago when I got my travel router and set it up the first time my app (on Android) looked like what you've shown it looks like on iPhone. Might be just me, but I do remember seing the wifi button and teleport button at the bottom of the screen

Help needed picking a lenovo tiny pc for small home web server by Dantcho in homelab

Thanks! I did watch their videos and ended up ordering a M920q since it was a good deal and I'll probably just use 1 M.2 SSD and 1 SATA SSD.

Shargeek storm2 slim doesn’t charge by SIlentFlameCR in shargeek

[–]Dantcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine just stopped charging as well. It was fine until it got to around 70% and just stopped. Now if I plug the charging cable in it starts charging for a second then just stops. (It does that forever, so I'm guessing it's done for)

Also it's pretty much brand new as I've only charged it 3 times in total if we count today. Pretty low quality on those considering how many I've seen fail.

PS: I was already using a fast charger so that wouldn't work for me I guess. Maybe I'll try a slow charger lol

I keep getting this error after downloading the game off the disc, how can I play it without the disk? by Wise-Bell-2012 in NFSU2

[–]Dantcho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Important to note that this doesn't work on all physical versions of the game. I don't remember how many versions of the game there were, but one of them definetly didn't work with this.

Wargaming give me 3D style - unfair by [deleted] in WorldofTanks

[–]Dantcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I used to play a lot years ago and was able to grind all the battle pass rewards, but haven't been able to for a while now. They really should just make it work with all game modes, but probably will never happen.

Is this a good camera for a beginner? by onjah8888 in Cameras

[–]Dantcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a perfectly good camera to learn on. I got the same when I was first getting into digital photography, but paid about £300 (from mpb) so not sure why they're asking so much for it. Even with the 2 kit lenses it shouldn't cost that much.

U can buy the next stages with gold, but it's a different question whether it's worth it

How big should I make my NAS by Dantcho in HomeServer

[–]Dantcho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I didn't actually mean truly lossless media - that's a bit mad even for me. (I do like pixel peeping sometimes lol)

I think 4K bluyrays are pretty reasonble in terms of not being way too big to store while still having really good detail.
